Subject: Lyr Req: My Resistance is Low From: GUEST,christine primrose Date: 08 Sep 03 - 11:51 AM Hi everyone - a friend of mine is looking for the words to My Resistance is Low. Can anyone help please. Thanking you in anticipation |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: My Resistance is Low From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 08 Sep 03 - 12:24 PM Well, I haven't found the words yet, but found this information: MY RESISTANCE IS LOW Now, if the song is copyrighted in 1951, why did they say it charted at 14 for a peak, in 1940? Strange. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: My Resistance is Low From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 08 Sep 03 - 12:28 PM BTW, is that Christine Primrose, the Gaelic singer? If so, LOVED both Aite Mo Ghaoil and S Tu Mo Chuimhne, as well as the Quiet Tradition. Haven't picked up the more recent recordings. YET! Tapadh leibh! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: My Resistance is Low From: Marje Date: 08 Sep 03 - 03:00 PM From memory (thanks to a cover version I remember from about 1965): You touch my fingertips And my heart is aglow You bend to kiss my lips And I can't let you go Maybe I should resist I'm a fool, I know But at a time like this My resistance is low Your eyes are magic They seem to say "Come closer, come closer, My darling, come closer" Amd somehow I can't keep away I want to be adored More than you'll ever know I'm going overboard With a capital "O" Don't know if that's all of it. Now I've unloaded that, maybe there will be some space freed up in my brain for stuff like what day it is and what my mobile phome number is. |
Subject: Lyr Add: MY RESISTANCE IS LOW (Adamson, Carmichael From: GUEST Date: 08 Sep 03 - 03:21 PM That's pretty good, Marje, from memory. According to my Hoagy Carmichael songbook, it's just a couple of words different, a link line before the final verse, and an ending. I've put the changes in Italics.
Words by HAROLD ADAMSON
You touch my fingertips
Your eyes have magic
Can't you see that I want to be adored
So don't be persistent Doug C |
