A thoroughly good man. The kind of man that makes it ridiculous when cold warriors and terror warriors try to brand their opponents as anti-American.

Thanks very much, Saul, for pointing this out. Amazing that it has been so under-played in the news. He was a major figure of the 60's, along with Abbie Hoffman. Glad he lived so long.

Thank you for posting this. I heard a wonderful segment on Pacifica Radio's Democracy Now, lots of interviews with folks from Chicago Eight, War Resisters League and such.

Dave was at our wedding, and at one point I looked over to see him in a conversation with my Uncle Proc, probably the most conservative guest at the wedding. They had a great time.   

Dave was in it for the long haul, and the love and intelligence he brought to his conversations with friends and antagonists alike was an amazing thing.

We'll miss him.
