Hey, guys! Don't do all the langostinos the way you usually do. There's a marvelous sauce they make in Barbados that is just perfect for langos. It's a yellow mustard with a mixture of peppers diced up and mixed in. I had a jar of it that sort of got lost in the back of the fridge for a few months (well, okay, maybe it was really years),. But anyway, when I found it again and drug it out, the durn lid had rusted and collapsed into the sauce. Wonder what it does to your tummy if it eats the lids off the bottle? And when ya git reddy to start cooking them steaks, don't spend no money on hickory. Jist gitcha some cheap briquettes (durn that's a big word) and when the coals git rite fer cooking, thro on a couple seed cones from that magnolia tree in the south end of the field. Soak 'em in the crik a bit first. They'll make up a nice mess o' smoke that'l give you a steak better'n any other you ever et. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm good!

Got out of sinc with the cook - rub - cook business just now WyoW, now you've got barbecue sauce on yer tootsies and there's body lotion on the ribs.
Not to worry, here comes DougR with the WD40, that should cure both problems.

Bert.

Alison, I guess I talked when I should have been rubbin'. Just my luck for Mick to overhear what I said. I got to take my trusty old WD40 over to see if I can help Bert out with WyoWoman. She's got some kind of problem. Hold my place, though. Old Big Mick will be amblin over dripping with charm the moment I disappear.

And bbc, there's nothing I'd like better than chattin' with you come the weekend sometime. I'm glad you are gettin' those NY young'uns in line for another school year. Just don't bruise yourself doin' it.

You know, Jeri, I think the barbecue-flavored body lotion was one of the best inventions we've come up with. Killing two terns with one stone...Uh, stoning two ... oh, hell. Never mind.

'Spaw, honey, don't you think you'd be a little more comfortable if you'd just set yourself down here with your back to the door? There you go... just face the stage and don't pay any attention to what's going on back there. Look, it's Alice and Mmario and, oh... for heaven's sake ... I think they've gotten their eras mixed. She's all velvet and turn-of-the century, and he's ... well, turn of an entirely different century. But, my, don't they sound nice with that harmony???

Isn't that better, 'Spaw? Catspaw? Don't .... ah, geez. He's tweakin' again .... that damned door....

Belated BSeed (It is my role in life, but I was away!!) Anyway, have a great birth week.

Say, pour me some nice scotch, if you please. I've just spent a weekend down visiting Mom and Dad. Dad's now home, in a hospital bed, sleeping a lot, sometimes cheerful, sometimes a true grump. It's hard to watch. Mom's doing pretty well, but I wish that life permitted me to be more helpful.

Off to try to sleep. (I don't have much problem with the Doors, but those two, um, ladies may give me a few nightmares. Thanks 'Spaw)

Another amaretto sour for me, if ya'll please, already had my first before I got here.

Now, 'Spaw, I want you to know we had that darn door replaced. The one you're looking at is a genuine, 24 plated Safe View. See? You can look through it and you'll only see the Sweet of your Dreams, and we know that's Karen, right, so....it's OKAY now, right? She does know you're in here? Is she gonna come after you? Was it her behind the original door? Ah.....rggghhhh! Easy now, 'Spaw, we're gonna take a nice and slow, easy little walk. That's right, far away from the D-o-o-r. (Psst: WW, close it quick and pull that curtain over it! Thanks!) No, no, 'Spaw, now come on this way, darlin', there ya go, over here by Old Big Mick and Brother Fielding, Father Joebro ought to be along in a few. We'll just sit here and listen to Mick play us nice, calm tune of his whistle, okay?

I guess you had to bring up the praties again, eh, Mick!? I guess if you think it'll hold his attention. You want red russets or something in a ugh dirt brown?

Susan A-R, sorry I missed you when we came through the *door* at the same time. I am sorry about your dad. I know what you mean about not being able to help more. All last fall and winter, I felt really guilty about being four hours away from mom and my sister, bet, have the sole responsibility of dealing with her, a full time job, and a troublesome teenage son she's raising alone. My phone bills were horrendous, but at least mom was pretty lucid until just the last few days.

Here...have another one on me, just take a deep breath and blow out all that stress. Maybe one of the guys can remember to give you a good massage, with lotion, only! I'm pretty good at getting those trigger points in the shoulders, neck, and back, if they are too busy calming the 'Spaw down.

Say MMario, could we put one of those content filters on the door?

Peter T, you oughta be able to come up with something.

Well, I've got to run back down and check laundry. Say, Wo, the hair is something, but the make up is something else again.

I TRIED putting a content filter on the door, but it wouldn't fit. Sorry 'bout that. Still recovering from a great weekend in Maryland and a long trip back that involved laughing our way across several states...my laugh muscles HURT! But while I was down there, not only did my normal ren-faire stuff, but even ran across a 'catter! The world she's a growin' smaller every day!

AND....I experienced my first 'possum sighting! We were in a gas station on Crownsville Road in Maryland, when we saw this small dark object skittering around in the road. It was pretty small, and though at the distance it was hard to tell, it looked mighty like the pictures I've seen of Cleigh. Complete to the the tail curving up and across the body. Whatever it was, and I'm convinced that if it wasn't Cleigh it was a near relative; it ran back and forth and 'round every time a vehicle would pass, until at last (Thank Goodness!) it safely reached the far side of the road and disappeared into a pile of brush.

May a formerly ex-Mudcatter come in for a drink? Gosh, I hardly know anyone here, but I think I like you already. What's that? Oh, I'd like Barbincourt on ice, with a lime twist, thanks.

Loved looking at the scenery here, but I feel a lack of a certain je nais se quoi - there, that fixes it.

Where are you FROM, MMario, that you had to come all the way here to Maryland to see one of our overgrown marsupial rats(AKA possums)? The one you saw must have been an Einstein of its kind - they usually don't make it across the road...

Gee Mikey, you done stumbled into the wrong place to ask a serious question! Maybe some of the more knowledgeable Mudcatters will help you out this time, but if you've searched the database already for such a song, maybe you would want to start a new thread that would capture a bit more attention. Something like, "Need lyrics to "Who's gonna dance with Sally Ann?" Then in your message write all the lyrics you know as you did in the one above. Check out the database first though. It's that space just above where all the Threads start.

Gee, Paul, I was just looking at hurricane names today, and found Bubba for you here... If you want to see the full list of what's going to be comin' at us for the next 5-6 years, NOAA has a history of hurricane names and official name list. Personally, I kind of like the idea of "Harvey Wallbanger", who's next on the list for this year after Gert. So hunker down, Paul, with a bottle o' the best, and we'll talk to you when your power comes back on...

Jeri, can you do your generator magic for Paul? I actually kindof liked the concert by candlelight without the squeals of pain from the sound system...

Bert, as a former Midwestern gal who believes flamingos are an essential part of lawn decor, I think they SHOULD get into the Jello - what's a Flamingo Party without Jello salad?

Lamarca, Welcome back, and the flamingos are such a welcome addition to the decor, which seems these days to be much constituted of dried specks of jello and kiwi juice and stretched out thong bikinis and feather boas draped hither and yon. We could use a flamingo or two to class up the joint.

Speaking of joints -- I'll take another black and tan... and I won't inhale (it always comes right back out my nose...)

Glad to see you've returned.......and thanks for the thread on Johnny, but I'm really happy to see you at the tavern, where we have NO heavy discussions.......probably because most of this group are so freakin' weird we can't stay on a topic, even if we possibly know what it is...and we generally don't have a clue..........But PLEASE hang around with us...gives the joint some class...............BILL!!! A NEW PUTE!!!....Great......scares the hell outa' me what you can do with more power though..............Ah, let's see...make it Jack again tonight I guess........aren't we about ready to move the Tavern to 11???.......Look...thanks for the drink Dougie...like I was saying, Look here, isn't it possible we just build a deck and put in a pond instead of that STUPID door......I said the door was a bad idea going in, but did anybody listen?............I mean, I'm willing to give it another try, but damn.....Every time I open the sucker it gets worse........Y'all get these beautiful things.......I dunno'......all I get are 2 or 3 real ECCENTRIC things every time I open it..........I mean, well hell, just watch........You want weird and eccentric??.....(FLING!).....yeah, figures.......Like I said, can't we just have a nice porch and gardens or something?.............Geezus......................... ..................... ...................stupid ass door...........
