I saw bobad's Romney clown but saw no reason to comment. I'm a working man and I tells it hows I sees it. The bigoted among you might call me a redneck. It's ok. But I don't see Prez al-Obama doing much more than posing for photo ops. Get marijuana legalized and I'll be impressed. Do away with pre employment drug testing (a violation of constitutional rights)and he'll get high marks with me.

Not necessarily. Even if presented in a more acceptable way, a good many of his remarks are racist, misogynistic, bigoted, fuckwitted, ridiculous, obnoxious, untrue and just plain bullshit.

I would guess that quite a few object to that.

I refer to his remarks- he himself may not be any or all of these things, but his remarks are all we have to go on.

Don't think so??? Set up ma folding chair by the closest interstate highway and watch them tucks filled with product zooming by...

Then take your folding chair down to the railroad tracks and watch 200-300 car 5 engine trains roll by with more product...

Then go into any successful business and ask for a show of hands on how many people attending public schools or schools that were paid for with vouchers (our taxes)...

Then go into any large university and ask the dean how many federaql dollars they get...

And that won't scratch the surface...

I was born in Southern California in the middle of the Great Depression, and my father was out of work a great deal of the time. There were no jobs to be had until Franklin D. Roosevelt's WPA and CCC were instituted. School of Music, And spent two years at the Cornish College of the Arts, a music and art conservatory in Seattle. With the exception of my first year at the U. of W., I paid my own way, ALL the way. School tuition, classic guitar lessons, and singing lessons. With money I earned by WORKING.

Due to an attack of polio at the age of two, I've had to walk with crutches and a leg brace all my life. But to pay my way through school and to eat regularly and keep a roof over my head, I have worked at Boeing as an draftsman and production illustrator, for the Bonneville Power Administration as a technical writer and editor, and for a couple of different radio stations as an announcer and newscaster (news director in one station—so I know how to fact check).

And for a substantial period of my life, I have worked as a professional musician, singing traditional folk songs and ballads in clubs, coffeehouses, on both educational and commercial television, and in concerts and recitals. And I have also written a couple dozen articles for various music magazines.

This I consider to be my real profession.

No, I have not lived in a trailer park. But from time to time I have lived in small, one room apartments, and at one time, in a converted garage. To keep costs low so I could pay for school and lessons.

I did not say that everyone in Mississippi and Alabama are "trailer trash." I didn't call anyone "trailer trash."

There's a difference between mindlessly slogging away at an equally mindless job, and working for a time at something which may be grunt work, but having goals and ambitions that you're working toward.

Makes all the difference in the world.

That's what I did. And that, obviously, is what Barack Obama did. I don't think either his father (who left the marriage early on) or his mother were wealthy, so Obama had to work for what he got.

Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and the Harvard Law School, and getting into schools like that in the first place is an achievement. At Harvard, he became president of the Harvard Law Review, not something that gets handed out to just any yahoo that asks for it, you have to earn it by demonstrating that you can handle the job. Then he became a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Which is a pretty damned good prerequisite for becoming President of the United States. Not every president has been that well qualified!

Not bad for a bi-racial kid whose father deserted the family early on and was raised by a single mother.
