Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Jeri Date: 27 Jun 06 - 09:55 AM It's been a whole year since we've been around To stake out our tents upon the hard ground But we don't ever sleep cuz there's singing and beer When the folkies go camping at Whitby We will sing down the moon, the dogs will sing too And we'll dance 'round the hazards of fresh doggie poo But with leather leashes, there's lots we could do When the folkies go camping at Whitby Oops...forgot to log out to post that. |

Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,curious Date: 09 Jul 06 - 07:49 PM It seems this subject is now moribund (nobody's interested) which I find rather strange as I was in Whitby over the weekend and a totally unreliable source informed me that the Bunny Girls Old Girls Association had somehow heard that pets were welcome and have made a block application to the honourable Glen for the whole week! Could this be the rebirth of Fluffy Morris? Derek Elliott would certainly be interested in offering advise and coaching, having starred in the original production in the early eighties (that's 1980s despite what a lot of people think!) |

Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Paul from Hull Date: 17 Jul 06 - 03:40 AM Only LES could come up with that truly atrocious "morning A Llama" pun Seriously, Community College site is well worth the brass. Overall its a better site than Stakesby School which is (well, I assume it still is) the Festival Official site. |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Les from Hull Date: 17 Jul 06 - 11:24 AM Good God, Paul - you still alive? |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Paul from Hull Date: 17 Jul 06 - 05:05 PM Hmmm, thats debateable, & if so, its not what many would call 'living'... *G* |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,jOhn Date: 21 Jul 06 - 09:49 AM "Dogs allowed , 1 pound per night" how much is it for hamsters? |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,curious Date: 22 Jul 06 - 04:05 AM Regarding hamsters: I think it depends whether you have them boiled or fried or done in breadcrumbs or batter! I thought Lord Glen Rogers said there was no food on site? If there is do they do hedgehog pie and badger steaks? |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,M&C Date: 25 Jul 06 - 01:57 PM I think seagull stew is in season... bit salty tho!!! |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,tazzymash Date: 26 Jul 06 - 06:01 PM Know it's a bit late but we've been trying to phone to get a booking for the last two weeks and only just found this site... Are there still pitches available for tents? |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Rasener Date: 27 Jul 06 - 02:51 AM Seagull Stew is in season all year isn't it M&C Is Seagull Dropping Suet Pudding on the menu? |

Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Soldier boy Date: 08 Aug 06 - 10:11 AM It's also by far the most greedy, rip off, egomaniac, selfish, opportunist, expensive, campsite in town!! |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Mrs.Duck Date: 08 Aug 06 - 10:49 AM Now don't hold back, Chris! |

Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: Rasener Date: 08 Aug 06 - 12:34 PM Lets hope Soldier Boy doesn't turn up with his rifle. :-) The thing is Soldier Boy, if its too expensive for you, then find somewhere else. Don't criticise the organisers. They are providing a valuable service. I personally think your comments are unacceptable and best kept to yourself. You old whinger :-) |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,M&C Date: 10 Aug 06 - 07:14 AM Copy from "Need Camping during Whitby Folk Week" The Temporary Campsite (run by Moor & Coast Festival)is no more expensive that other sites in the area. We provide a campsite with good clean indoor facilities on a great location. We had the oppotunity to use this site after talking to Malc (Whitby Folk Week) and we thought it would be a great idea to have it as a campsite. Many people camped at Stoup Cross but that no longer is an option. There is a critical shortage of pitches available for tents, we are trying to provide an alternative... Just to put the record straight, Moor & Coast Festival is a not for profit organisation. Funds raised from this will be put back into bringing music, song, dance and arts into Whitby and the rural area... No one takes a cut!!! Moor & Coast |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: ossonflags Date: 10 Aug 06 - 08:08 AM Is any one camping at Robin Hoods Bay? |
Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: GUEST,Iain Date: 11 Aug 06 - 07:04 PM The festival's Stakesby School site is cheaper than the M&C one at the Community College - but only available if you have a season ticket for the festival. I think that Stakesby is a better location, though it is a bit smaller each year. The comparison is a bit daft, though. Chances are that both will be full, particularly as there is almost nowhere else you can pitch a tent. There is going to be a questionnaire about camping for the festival this year - it'd be great if everyone gave their opinions. |

Subject: RE: Camping at Whitby Folk Week From: John J Date: 21 Aug 06 - 04:57 AM Just got back from Whitby last night, we stayed at the community college site (Moor & Coast). A great site with good facilities and decent folks running the show. We'll be back there next year. My thanks to those running the site. John |
