Now this is going to seem very strange.

I like all types of music from Folk, Blues, R&B, Rock, Punk, Trad jazz, Country, all the stuff that my 13 year old daughter likes, etc etc.

But there are two songs that have stuck in my mind all through my life and bring goose pimples to me whenever I hear them. What are they.
Not sure if they are sexy but certainly stunning.

Not too fond of their songs, though.

Always thought Edith Piaf sounded like a sheep. I may be a Kiwi nowadays, but, no....

Her Indoors likes Sacha Distel and Sean Cannon.

Wish I sounded like Nat King Cole, without the problems that caused him to sound like that.

Tho of a female persuasion myself, I always thot Julie London had a great sexy voice, so glad to see so many votes for her, especially as when she first recorded she was considered to be a lightwt, the only reason given a chance to record that she was Jack London's wife, at a time when he was all the rage. And altho I never heard her sing a sexy song, Cynthia Gooding.

Lila Downs the mexican folksinger has a uniquely expressive voice which depending on which song she's singing can turn me on in whatever mood I'll find myself. Billie Holliday turns me on in a big way too...

I find it amazing that not a single woman has mentioned either Nat "KIng" Cole or Johnny Mathis, both of whom used to leave a lot of girls stuck to their seats in my youth.

Among female singers, I have to come down in the Julie London camp. I just wish I could shake the image of her falling-down drunk the one time I got to see her in person.

I was a little surprised at Rick Fielding's mention in 1999 of Barbara Dane. I've got one of her albums that I don't think I ever played more than twice; I'll have to reassess it.

My missus says Anthony Hopkins has a sexy voice. And Jeremy Irons and George Sanders who was the voice of Shere Khan in the Jungle Book film. I wouldn't have sex with any of them, but then again I doubt they'd want me to.

For me the sexiest voice belongs to Sade. Someone else who wouldn't want sex with me.

Hmmm, Mudlark, I think Julie London was married to Jack Webb, not Jack London. Jack London, the author, was of another era. Jack Webb, star of the old series, Dragnet, was a big star back then when Julie London came into prominence. But her voice is not bad.
Voices? I saw one mention of James Earl Jones. Now there's a voice to curl my toes. (I don't know what that means, but god, I love that voice!)

Carly Simon did three CD's of classic songs, My Romance, Torch, and Film Noir. On those three albums, her voice is as sexy as a guy could ever dream of. The best of the three is the first, My Romance. Two cuts are special favorites of mine, "When Your Lover Has Gone," and "Where or When."

You know I think this is really about people reacting to someone who sounds like a real person . Someone who shows through with a truthful voice.Someone you can see just from the sound of them .
          June was my first choice but I love Kate Rusby's voice and how she uses it to tell a story . Early Bonny Rait can melt polar shelfs . Aretha Franklin is a power of nature . Lui Collins who I played with years ago has it as well .All the best , guy
