Ithink that's teh 21st this year as the enxt weekend will eb full of foopball

Are you typing with mittens on?

Last Sunday in February is 22nd unless my free yet expensively produced Essex Trading Standards calendar is incorrect. I love dissing the council, especially since they are about to give me and about 20,000 other employees the shaft.

I think I am already up to accompanying myself on at least one song on the Sigma. Good thing too. I may soon be busking outside county hall in a few months time.

Must think on writing a folk song about being a riffed council worker. Snerk. Yeah that will get loads of sympathy from the tax payiing public.

If it was Paddy, take no notice, he's always like that and he lives in Cuxton now anyway - I once nearly stuck a knife in him in my own kitchen after he and Jeff and Annie (yes, the nice respectable Annie who was there) and I had replayed the history of the troubles in my drawing room...

Sorry Richard had to shut down computer me boss came along. Right continue has above.

For want of a better word he was raving and I thought it might continue inside the pub due to the state he was in so I calmed him down, Then a lady came out and she said she was annoyed about all the sushing.
I thought I have come here to listen to folk play, and singers I have enough of this kind of Par-larva at work..

Still now,t came of it in the end and I enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.I made Woodsie aware of Paddy once I was back inside but when Paddy came in he seemed alright again so I left it at that and come end of session we shook hands.

There were a few local "notables" who alas no-showed. Note to self, following arms (without limitation and no offence intended to anyone I forget) to twist for next time: -

snipsnip

If at all possible, I will make that one happen Richard.

I've had a lot happening recently, all bad, culminating in involuntary retirement, courtesy of Messrs. Brown & Darling, but I hope to be on a slightly more even keel by then.

Will probably bring poetry bird, (MY one), as well.

Don T.

Richard
I must say he was not violent towards me in any way and he was not blaming me for the sushing its just i was there having a smoke so he vented his feelings not directly at me but I was a earhole if you see what I mean. I just thought folk ought to be made aware of it thats all, Kind regards Pete.

Pete, I know where you're coming from, it's not a criticism of any one but we all need to be mindful that we're in a boozer and the regulars have had no say about it. We can't go bossing them about. It's a pub, it has pub noise, c'est la vie. Anyone who wants a concert hall atmosphere needs to stay away. Play music that suits the mood of the audience; if they seem to want some foot-stomping sing-along stuff then put the whistles away, or just live with them switching off from the act and talking amongst themselves. Sorry if that seems harsh but it's the reality of the situation.

Pub noise is one thing. Yelling the odds behind the performer's ear, or over a lady's whistle is another. If a punter has no manners I will tell him so. If none of them have any manners then no more sessions - well, not organised by me. You may recollect that I was very iffy about organising the second of these sessions because of how loud and leery the landlord was first time round.

I'm easy.

If it was Paddy (I've had no confirmation yet) he knows where I live.

If it's a general feeling, then oh well, bang goes another session.

Hi folks
Next time I will Ignore it. rather then blow away a future session .I cant do good for doing bad on this one. Yes it was Paddy and I do not know what he is like he seemed ok but at the end of the day I have never laid eyes on the bloke before. It was the session I had in mind at the time not jepodising this forth coming one in Feb.

Whata PAR-LARVA.

(Hmm, I wonder if that's derived from an African traditional song)

Leave young Cannon to me! You did well Pete - I'll sort him out! I'd have been far more concerned if it was pretty well anyone else.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought the locals were generally fairly positive towards us.

I'd have put it higher than that. Everyone was telling me how they'd enjoyed it and thanking me for an excellent afternoon - including Paddy - so Pete's revelation came as a bit of a shock. But Paddy does run off at the mouth (usually loudly) a bit.

Yes Richard I couldnt put it better meself. I do not know Paddy. I thought it was gonna kick off. I seen things kick off over far less. If Paddy is harmless and his barks worse then his bite, Lets all forget about it.

I just want to say from my perspective that I did not note any irritation from the patrons.

Want to be careful that we don't scare away any potential attendees to future events by making more of what appears to be one isolated complaint.

Paddy's usually legless and he only has one working arm - so he's nearly "armless" too - boom boom.

He came to all the old Ship sessions, came to my house (several times), bragged to all assembled about the size of his dick, happily did not produce evidence, nearly got shivved in my kitchen, has has shedloads of free legal work from me including at 3 am when I was pissed and trying to get police out of his house - etc etc etc.

Oh, and I sorted a mini-PA for his rodeo bull.

In fact, I think he's a friend, in a sort of Lower Stoke way....

Just so long as he leaves his banjo at home.

I am squeezing tears back from laughing so hard. Pete better keep a table between yourself and RB next session, if Paddy shows up armed with banjo.

VT. What a fiasco
I didnt know.

Paddy told me he played the Banjo, so being friendly and encouraging I said Where is it? He said it was indoors, I said no good indoors is it? So I said bring it with you next time.He said I will Pete,I will.

I did not know Paddy only had the use of one arm. I mean should that effect his playing ability?

Definition of Golden Silence.....A one armed Banjo player.

I suppose when he gets legless, he needs a hand to get home.

I discussed the Cannon situation with Pete the Landlord and his missus tonight. Cannon made himself thoroughtly unpopular later in the day, bringing his dogs in and shouting at them until the early hours(!) and I was told "If he wants to shout why does he sit up that end" so I think the wind is in our favour.
