Or we'll burst into spontaneous song..."Oh Mrs McGrath, the sergeant said, would you like to make a soldier out of your son Ted...." I suppose the consolation is that Mr McGrath is, in fact, a closet Punch The Horse fan. Hey, it's nearly the weekend!!!! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: GUEST,The Bear Date: 18 Jun 03 - 05:32 AM Deanie I am some what disapointed that it took you over half an hour to reply to my first ever posting on your Punch thread and heres me thinking you sit there all day with nothing better to do other than sit and update this!!!! Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: GUEST,The DeanMeister Date: 18 Jun 03 - 06:13 AM John, I wouldn't subject the lovely one to the lecherous advances of the Sales team. It would end in physical violence! Sean McGrath is legendary in the field of being a little forward. And heaven knows what she would make of the Chesterfield Branch!!!! We would have to form a wall around her. You take the front, I'll cover her back. And for the record, I have NEVER sung that song! Its the way non-folkies see us, and has been the butt of jokes aimed at my musical tastes at the office for years. Still, maybe I should learn it for the weekend? |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: GUEST,The Bear Date: 18 Jun 03 - 06:17 AM Deanie we could always mention your oh so wonderful version of The Wheels on The Bus! but i think that is taking it a bit to far!!! Any way matey some of us are not only doing appointments but we are also selling the odd thing now and again so i best go and fill in me paper work! Have fun and remember you are not alone!!! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Bassic Date: 18 Jun 03 - 06:21 AM Fangfoss.................isnt that near the back gate to HMP Full Sutton? Could I suggest "Jaihouse Rock" as being more appropriate next time you play to a "captive" audience deano :-) Mind you, the boys on "B Wing" do have peculiar tastes so I`m told!!! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: GUEST,The DeanMeister Date: 18 Jun 03 - 06:23 AM I was afraid of that... And yes, I did sing the wheels on the bus...from the top of the open top tourist bus on the streets of Edinburgh! (before anybody asks) |

Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Raggytash Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:03 AM Where does that leave me and Ossenflags, cos I fink he is older even than what I is, (but inside I'm only twenty three most of the time, although I can regress to Seven quite easily) |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: smallpiper Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:19 AM I am happy to be middle aged and have reached the level of sophistication that I have. I no longer have to spit my dummy out and can intimidate anyone with impunity as well as drinking Deanie under the table. I don't give a toss what anyone thinks and don't have to do anything I don't want to do (within certain societal limits of course). Hey have you warned "Guest The Bear" about Nikki's body guard Deanie or about how deadly she is with the knee? Also I've emailed you the requested photies Deanie |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:25 AM John, the 'I don't give a toss' attitude is probably more common for my age group than yours...however, unfortunatly, doing wateva you want is not really an option open to me yet, i still live at home! you win there!!! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:36 AM john i can't find the thread!!!! where is it?!?! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: KJ Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:38 AM Happy Birthday Sweetfire, enjoy your day. I remember being sixteen (just!!) but I wasn't very sweet! I have just woken up (been on nights) after having a nightmare about a banjo (need I say more)! Missed all you Sloopers last night, lots of babies screamed & puked all night. I think screaming, puking babies should be banned. |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:42 AM Thanx KJ. Well babysitting pretty much sealed the fact that i am NEVER gunna have kids! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: smallpiper Date: 18 Jun 03 - 08:54 AM Hey KJ you want a lift tonight? if so txt me cheers John |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: KJ Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:18 AM Hey Sweetfire, never say never!! On a more positive note, having never gone near a baby in my youth when I finally realised I was pregnant I thoroughly enjoyed it & enjoyed them when they were babies. Just became harder when they started walking & talking & much, much harder when they hit teens!!!! Was it a full moon last night? We'll txt ya SP, don't know how Col's feeling yet, still recovering from Banjo & may not feel up to another rendition! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:19 AM ok, can anybody else find the thread titled 'BS Happy Birthday Sweetfire'??? Cos i bloody can't! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:23 AM The kids are ok if they just sit there, don't touch me, don't talk to me in fact don't even look at me...that way i can just ignore that they are there and then it feels like i am getting paid for doing nothing. brilliant!! |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Bassic Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:31 AM Sweetfire, I have just put a post on your birthday thread so it should be at the top of the BS list now, That starts about half way down if your thread list is set to the default setting which separates BS threads and puts them after other (non Bs) topics |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Raggytash Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:33 AM Sweetfire The thread you seek is in the non music section keep scrolling down you'll get to them. Happy Birthday to you |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Noreen Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:36 AM Not done any HTML at school yet, sweetfire? Useful stuff: (ahem...) BTW, what's yr favourite colour? |

Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: sweetfire Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:46 AM purple is my fav colour! thanx everyone right, i have just used your link above noreen and added something myself (that is allowed isn't?) and then went back to 'forum' home, and it still isn't there!!! What am i doing wrong? Is there anything i can do? |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:51 AM Heloo, hoew, doi, you, make, them, big, letters, like, that? |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Noreen Date: 18 Jun 03 - 09:53 AM It won't be at the top of the page, sweetie :0) they're the music threads. You must scroll down the page, and there's a dividing line keeping this sort of drivel away from the pure music threads. Your thread should be top of the list of drivel. (Wow!) |
Subject: RE: punch the horse june thread From: Noreen Date: 18 Jun 03 - 10:07 AM jOhn, do you see the 'big letters' moving across the screen? I used 'marquee' which works in Internet Explorer but anyone viewing in Netscape wouldn't get the effect. Just wondering how webTV deals with it? To make letters big, put H1 in triangular brackets < > before what you want to say and /H1 in triangular brackets < > at the end to switch it off. H1 is the biggest heading, H6 is small (think that's what I wrote 'hee hee' in the 7:12 am post) |
