Subject: UPDATE From: katlaughing Date: 24 Dec 10 - 08:26 PM Oh you good people, this is hard...Pat is having a tough time. I just talked with Karen. The fever is back up. He is on BiPap to keep stress off of his heart. He's having a lot of diarrhoea, but did test negative for c-diff(sp?), which I think is some kind of bacteria and it is good that he tested negative. They are going to do another blood culture, tomorrow, as well as a CAT scan of his belly. One of the people Karen spoke to told her there is "something cookin' in there, they just don't know what." He is on a lot of morphine. Karen has always, always been upbeat and positive. She knows him so well. I asked if she is frightened and she said yes. She is also tired. She and the boys are at Connie's and Wayne's for Christmas nad will go see Pat, tomorrow. Then, on Sunday, she is going to take a day of rest and stay home. She may also come visit Mudcat. I told her not to worry about it. He's got the whole world holding him and we'd do the same for her. Let's let that Light shine in whatever way we know/believe or not and see him through this! Karen, you are everything Spaw has said and more. With much love and gratitude, kat |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: SINSULL Date: 24 Dec 10 - 09:18 PM What the hell have they been feeding him, kat? Poor Karen. Poor Spaw. Miss Kitty, we are all grateful for your updates. It is important that Karen be able to filter reports through just one person rather than answering or being forced to ignore multiple emails, calls, etc. Keep yourself well and safe and your family too. Spaw has gotten through worse. One day at a time. Merry Christmas, Pattersons, and the La France's too. SINS |

Sorry, but that's what they said in the back woods and in the trenches when the going got tough... and this is tough. Hang tough buddy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: katlaughing Date: 24 Dec 10 - 09:33 PM No apologies necessary, gnu. I've just got one question: Fuck, fight and hold the light. In that order? :-)kat |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: SINSULL Date: 24 Dec 10 - 09:54 PM Who's he supposed to fuck, gnu? Karen might not like that at all. And as to that light - he's on oxygen for pity's sake. Don't light anything! Spaw - I want no details about your diarrhea. Just get better...and cleaner. OK? Much love, SINS |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: BlueJay Date: 24 Dec 10 - 10:04 PM Thanks,Kat. I'm usually lurking, and this really upsets me. I feel like Spaw is an old friend. I only know Karen from what Spaw and all of you have said. She sounds like a SAINT! C-diff, (clostridium difficile) is a bacteria that is normally present in the gut, but sometimes they overpopulate when competing bacteria are wiped out with antibiotics. symptoms range from mild to lethal, and can be treated successfully if caught in time. It is indeed very good Spaw's test for c-diff was negative. Thanks, BlueJay |

This is a very happy household this morning so, hopefully, the energy will be well charged. Keeping a close watch on this thread. Unless Spaw wants a visit from members of the Evil Sisterhood he had better get his act together and get his arse out the hospital in short time. |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Rapparee Date: 25 Dec 10 - 11:01 AM If he don't get outa there, reasonably hale and hearty soon, I'm gonna go to that hospital and start reading him the entire, unabridged, uncut version of "Moby Dick." Call me Fishmeal. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Bobert Date: 25 Dec 10 - 11:23 AM Continued healing thoughts comin' from this mountain holler and... ...don't make me have my Couzin Rufus and the Reg Boyz come down there, Spawzer. 'cause if you think things is funky now, they'll bring funky to a new level... Ya' hear??? B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Rapparee Date: 25 Dec 10 - 11:42 AM Call me Fishmeal. Some years ago - never mind how long precisely - having as usual little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore (her father having caught us in the act), I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation of my splendid genes around the world. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I feel a burning pain when I urinate; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my typos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically passing large volumes of malodorous intestinal gas - then, I account it high time to get to sea or at least out of town as soon as I can. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Dec 10 - 12:13 PM Wow. You are well on your way toward composing a classic, my good man. Generations of future students will no doubt be forced to plow their way through it. The Coles Notes version will not do it justice. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Dec 10 - 01:26 PM Y'know, I was thinking...what if we all send him one of these to cheer him up: Eeeeek!!!! Eeeeeek!!!! They could be arranged in a sort of ring around the bed, and the nurses could activate them whenever necessary. I think it would do wonders for ol' Spaw. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: katlaughing Date: 25 Dec 10 - 01:31 PM ohmygawd, LH, that would send him right through the roof. That is a fright! Rapparee...keep it up, that's good stuff...way better than the original! |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: SINSULL Date: 25 Dec 10 - 01:42 PM I really dislike mokeys. Does that make me a bad person? Remember the one who tore off the woman's face recently? Nasty things. On another note, Netflix is shipping me Songcatcher which of course will trigger a review. Hope Spaw is well enough to contribute. SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Bobert Date: 25 Dec 10 - 01:53 PM Well, now it feels like Christmas, you know, with LH draggin' out some home movies of Chongz at his 1st birthday party... What next??? |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: katlaughing Date: 25 Dec 10 - 04:54 PM You are a brave woman to order that to watch, Sins. Odious movie, imo. And, just what we need, another review of it!*bg* No news must be good news, eh? |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Amos Date: 25 Dec 10 - 05:46 PM Hey, Pat, see if they'll let you watch a re-run of "Being John Malkovitch". It will really make coming back to your own skin seem like a good idea! A |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: Bobert Date: 25 Dec 10 - 05:50 PM Well, I consider my cat comin' home to be a sign that 2 other things good are going to occur as things, good or bad, come in threes... So, I proclaim that Spawzer gettin' his innards squared away (for him, that is) as #2 and I'm now awaiting #3... But sho nuff be nice to have that #2 in the books and have Sp-awzer home and healthy for New Years 'cause word on the street the Reg Boyz gotta somethin' big planned... That's all I can say... B~ |
