Incidently, when we were kids we used to play in the house area, and have lots of fun.

The house fell in to disrepair after a fire, then during the war the Americans set up camp there and used the house as target practice... bullet holes can still be seen.

It's a magical area there. Lovely.

Campsite is on high ground, beautiful setting, lots of trees. Among/near to grounds originally belonging to the Piercefield house

The town itself is on a quickly sloping hill, so most of the water runs down towards the river, with a few problems but not really for long at all. Wellies sufficient. There was a spot of flash flooding, but it didn't last for long - and affected a few parts of town recently. Sandbags are out, and at the moment there's not much to worry about. It is supposedly going to be a good weekend for the weather.

Lots of indoor events so no probs

Yes, that toll's a bugger for anyone coming from the West Country. I get caught by it if I nip over to The Nova Scotia FC in Bristol (on my way home).
Anyone coming from further East (or North) can come via Gloucester and have a lovely run down alongside the River Severn (via Lydney); Floods permitting!

Well the buttons work for me (Mozilla) and this is what I find.

there is a bar. Entry is free with weekend or day wristbands. £10 to the public. Children half price. So expect me to brave the Dragon's Breath (Fri) though Joy's choice will be Floridam Sat.

If you really want to know about Broomsgrove (sic) or Priddy you could do worse than follow the links on my site But Chepstow is nearer for us (despite the Toll). We intend to be at the ceilidh.

So my question - is - can we get tickets just for the ceilidh? I think it is the case but want to be sure before we pay the extortion to the man on the Toll Booth.

The buttons work for me too.
Confusion may, however, arise because each page has been processed onto the same 'Frame', even in some cases using the same publicity stills at the top.
At first glance it may appear that the links are just refreshing the same page, rather than re-directing the reader.

Two Rivers have announced the CHEPSTOW FOLK FESTIVAL over the weekend of 6th, 7th and 8th July 2007.

The Festival will celebrate the full range of Folk Music and Dance with twenty two performers and three hundred Dancers booked to date. Headlining in the fantastic Chepstow Castle will be Eliza Carthy (6th) and Dick Gaughan and Allan Taylor (7th).

Just a small point! Widders are not actually organising the festival, but are very much involved. The festival is organised by Tim Ryan (Severn Princess), John McConnachie(see The Anthill Mob) and Mike Lewis(myself)The festival is set to become a major player on the folk festival circuit with loads planned for future years.
Chepstow has a lot to offer on many levels, keep your eye on the town!

Yes, it is a lovely setting, and indeed a nice town. A very historic area, and the campsite is in a nice position - near the race course, and in the grounds of a ruined mansion house, with capabilty brown style old landscape.

The festival website is informative. There's a lot to do in the area and some lovely walking trails too. Offa's Dyke and all. I love it there, but I'm biased.
