It's that time of year again when I am looking at booking for festivals. The flyer for Beverley which I received through the post made no mention at all of any sessions, and the website is very non-committal - "The festival organisers have no control or influence over the present fringe events". Can I safely assume that there will be some informal music as in previous years - Tiger, perhaps, looking at the other threads? Or should I be looking elsewhere?

As far as I am aware it is on as usual although I think oombanjo has handed the running over to another musician.

Hi Linda

Sorry to hear you have been unwell, I hope it wasn't that awful flu virus as that seems to hang about for weeks. I may pop up but can you let me also know the dates please as I may coincide it with seeing a couple of friends up that way.

Hi Oombanjo Zoe and I would like to join you all on the fringe and help in any way we can. Can you possibly reserve us some camping space or is that not possible or done via someone else. If anyone needs help with a session or anything just ask.

Roy and I had a meeting with the festival organisers and gave them the bones of the fringe events.
Friday night Welcome night in Hodgsons Les and Maggie in the chair.
Friday night Graham and Joe will be hosting a session in the Tiger.
Saturday Tiger as usual. Saturday Monks walk with Mick in the chair
Hodgsons with me and whoever doing the early shift, as my mate john will be fishing.2pm Hand over to Carol for Ladies day, a session run by ladies, for all persuasions, however only songs about ladies. Most of these sessions as you know go on through the night. Sunday 10.30 if there is enough support there will be an old time Appalachian gospel morning on the Syntan, if not enough support then it will be a old time session all welcome. Sunday from 2 the second songwriters day if this is only half as good as last year it will still take some beating Pip&Merry , and Merv & Martin in the chair.
There will also be informal sessions in the food tent between 10 and 2 pm if any one wants to have a go. I am hoping that enough of the old time players are around so we can have a get together at around 10 on the Saturday. I hope you all have a good time also this year will be my last year running the fringe, I will be handing over to Roy, I am sure that you will give him all the support and friendship that you have given me . Thanks to you all Chee3rs Oombanjo.
