Subject: RE: Folk duos to remember From: Stringsinger Date: 24 Mar 07 - 04:12 PM The Smothers Brothers. Also, (whether you think they are folk or not) Bud and Travis. Woody and Cisco. Doc Watson and Bill Monroe (Chicago Folk Festival) Scruggs and Flat Laurel and Hardy (all right so they're not really folk but they were great!) Besides, they played great ukulele and sang lovely tunes. Inman and Ira (not known well) Some liked Gibson and Camp. John Roberts and Tony Barrant put on quite a show. What about Ewan and Peggy? Leadbelly and Josh White recorded great together. Did anyone remember Hedge and Donna? Fiddler and Evelyn Beers (two of my fave American folksingers) Jean Ritchie and Oscar Brand Batman and Robin, Abbot and Costello....NOT Frank |
