Subject: Eleni Mandrell - Blue Ribbon Eyes From: katlaughing Date: 27 Mar 07 - 12:02 AM I heard this on Hober today. What a sweet, beautiful song. She may be a bit too country for some folks, but this young woman has a beautiful voice, imo, and she does old style country. If you go to her website HERE, enter and choose music, then click on the thumbnail for the cd "Country for true lovers" then Listen, you can hear the the first song all of the way through.(Warning, you have to have Flash for her home page.) You can hear a sample of "Blue Ribbon Eyes" HERE. |
Subject: RE: Eleni Mandell - Blue Ribbon Eyes From: GUEST Date: 27 Mar 07 - 11:02 AM She may be a bit too country for some folks My friend Eleni has only done one real country CD. Most of her stuff falls more into alt-rock or contemporary folk veins. Her new Cd is sort of jazzy. |

Subject: RE: Eleni Mandell - Blue Ribbon Eyes From: Little Robyn Date: 27 Mar 07 - 03:43 PM Is she related to Barbara Mandrell? About 25 years back there was a TV programme with this talented lady and her sisters. Great musicians and beautiful too. Robyn |

Subject: Lyr Add: BLUE RIBBON EYES (Eleni Mandell) From: Jim Dixon Date: 01 Nov 09 - 07:32 PM Found on the Internet and checked against the recording, thanks to Google: BLUE RIBBON EYES Eleni Mandell Blue ribbon eyes, I wish I could be In North Carolina lying under the trees. You and me, baby, birds flying by, Looking into your blue ribbon eyes. Driving to Hamlet you said, matter of fact, That you'd always love her and none after that. I swallowed big tears under pretty blue skies, Memories of love in your blue ribbon eyes. Why, oh, why did you tempt my heart with love? You, only you, made me believe in heaven above. Now I know there's a hell 'cause I'm burning inside. You smiled and you kissed me. Strong arms held me tight. We laughed in the meadow. You called me "first prize." I'll never forget your blue ribbon eyes. |
