Subject: RE: Lyr Req: songs by michael Marra From: 14fret Date: 11 Apr 07 - 07:43 AM What's wrong with buying the CD? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: songs by michael Marra From: Effsee Date: 11 Apr 07 - 09:32 AM I don't think he has recorded this particular song yet. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Muggie Sha' (Michael Marra) From: GUEST,Steve Byrne Date: 08 Nov 22 - 08:28 AM Very late to the party on this, but enjoying Barbara Dymock's rendition on her Hilbert's Hotel CD at the minute and came looking for the lyrics. Brilliant translation from Effsee, although "Dug-Up Dan" is actually "Dudhope Dan", Dudhope being an area and a park in Dundee. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Muggie Sha' (Michael Marra) From: weerover Date: 08 Nov 22 - 09:09 AM You have to hear MM himself sing this to really appreciate it. Think Randy Newman with a thick Dundonian accent. wr |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Muggie Sha' (Michael Marra) From: Jim McLean Date: 10 Nov 22 - 03:57 AM I know the translation by effsee is humorous and not truly literal, I think one phrase should be looked at. “An never skail a moothfu “ means never spill a mouthful. |
