I don't do many club gigs since my retirement from full-time singing but I am making a 'rare appearance' at the 'Court Sessions' folk club on Friday April 13th. Mike O'leary-Johns is coming with me to do a floorspot.
The club meets at the Tooting Constitutional Club, 111 Tooting High Street, SW17 0SU. Nearest tube station is Tooting Broadway. Turn left out of the station and it's just 150 metres, on the corner of Woodbury STreet. Press intercom bell on right of door, then push. Motorists, the club website states that there is plenty of parking space. It would be great to see some Catters at the gig. Introduce yourself.
On the following day I will be doing some compereing work at wha\t looks like a wonderful day at Cecil Sharp House, 'Celebrating Cyril', raising funds for an archive to be kept at CSH in honour of Cyril Tawney. I don't think there are many tickets left, best check with CSH before you go.

Mr. R.

Have a fine time. I know everyone there will be doing just that!

Quite recently I sent you a package. I do hope it gets/got there O.K. and in good shape. If you would be so kind, let me know when it does get there.

When I send you an e-mail, it gets bounced back to me. And since I cannot join Mudcat, Personal Messages are not possible. SO, I'm hoping to get word to you this way...

Art Thieme

The above message is for BURL---who is Roy--not for Dave Ruch.

Sorry for the drift.

Hiya Art,
No package arrived as yet but I'll let you know as soon as it does. I don't know what's wrong with the Email, I'll check up on it.
Art and Dave. thanks for the good wishes. I know I'll have a good time at the Court Sessions club, I always have on the several occasions I've sung there, often in different venues but always with the same good quality in regular singers and audience.

Hey Roy,
I'll be thinking of you on Friday and wishing I could magically transport myself to the club to hear you sing again!!! Would give anything to be in the audience.

All best to you and Elaine. (Like Art, I have been unable to send you e-mail messages lately, but thanks for your recent greetings, and big hugs to both you and your sweetie!).
Kathy

Hi Kathy, good to hear from you. Ican't explain what's happening to my email. I'm still getting messages but not from the USA although I know some have been sent. Please try again, maybe we'll have better luck. Love from Elaine and me. Did I tell you it's our Golden wedding anniversary in August?.

Oh, to be in London now that Burl is here! I've always been a great admirer of your singing, Roy, such a shame I can't be there, have a great evening. It must be ages since I've heard you sing, probably way back in the halcyon days of the Coach House at Farningham. And I still chuckle when I remember your story of how Sandiacre got its name.

Hi Dave. What a memory, The Coach House at Farningham, Kent. I had some good times there. If I remember correctly it was run by a band with the unusual name of Skinners Rats. Cheers, Burl

'Sorry Roy, I'm afraid that Mrs Admiral and I can't make to Tooting but we're sure that you and all will have a great time. Perhaps you could consider dropping in on Maidenhead FC on the way back?

Thank you to all the 'Catters who turned up, it was grand to see you. The Court Sessions is a really good club with a lovely atmosphere about it and a positive lead from the residents. Very good to have Moira Craig, and Mike O'Leary-Johns, as floor singers along with the clubs own regulars. Not having sung publicly for a while I was a bit creaky and rusty to start with, but overall, not too bad. I might try more of this!.

The Tawney day was awesome. A huge crowd and fine artists did the man honour. I was proud to be a part of it. Burl

Ah, that I could have been there!! I had a conflict in dates.. I was singing on the 13th with the Gospel Messengers. And then of course, there's the matter of a few miles between us.

I'm sure everyone who had the privilege to hear you had a wonderful evening.

Jerry
