Booker 65 in July 12th (old Redcar date) he wont have a do ~ his mum 97 saw her yesterday very fit for her age

Hhmmm... I had a milk round in Cleckheaton many moons ago.... used to go to the folk night at the Richardson Arms in Oakenshaw and played regularly in impromptu sessions at the Pack Horse, Rose 'n Crown with Mally, Paul Flannery (when he lived in London and visited Cleck regularly), Dave Taylor etc. etc. etc.... LN.x

Tap-up Bob - I'm sure he comes from Cleckie - I had another think, and, now I believe it was about 35 Years ago I last saw him. He was temp. engaged to the sister of someone we both know.!!!Ah-Ha !!

Went to Music Room on Thursday what a cracking Music centre and very folkie orientated

Tell me about it. I've always steered well clear - this lecturer at our college, who didn't like me, came from there. Because of that I've always suspected the town might have alot of his sort lurking and smirking about. (that man could smirk for Europe!)

Since the boundaries of Cleckheaton are continually disputed and the cultural influence of Cleckheaton is much graeter than mere geography, might it not be more appropriate to recognise the importance of folkies from Cleckhuddersfax?

Dave Mallison, he's lived there for many years, don't know if he was born there though.
