Subject: RE: BS: International Women's Arts Festival From: JohnInKansas Date: 15 Apr 07 - 11:48 AM Interesting, I suppose, but the site is infested with Flash. It was interesting enough that I turned on my Flash plugin, rebooted to turn it on, and gave it 10 minutes to try to load the page, but with no success. I guess women artists just don't like guys who connect and do things slowly ... John |

Subject: RE: International Women's Arts Festival - May 2007 From: JohnInKansas Date: 15 Apr 07 - 07:29 PM Oh sure, kat. Get around the Flash but make me turn on J-Script instead. must be a bunch of wimmin runnin' this shindig You'll be happy to hear that I downloaded the current Flash just to look at the original link. I can also turn J-Script on and off fairly easily, and appreciate the second link. I just have to remember to turn both of them off before I go wandering. (I suppose a note to remind myself to "turn off the ladies" is superfluous, as that seems to be a natural talent of mine.) The lineup of events is quite impressive. I thought the music sessions were especially interesting. Most of the people named are virtually unknown to my little corner of the eighteenth century (i.e. Kansas) but I've made some notes. John |

Subject: RE: International Women's Arts Festival - May 2007 From: Big Al Whittle Date: 15 Apr 07 - 07:57 PM Wendy Cope is a very clever poet - very accessible. Her first collection Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis contains some very funny poems. It is published by Faber - I'm sure your bookshop in Kansas will have heard of her. She comes highly recommended by me. And no, I don't know her. |
