Subject: Radio Britfolk From: Kevin Sheils Date: 16 Apr 07 - 10:28 AM I know there is a Radiobritfolk permathread somewhere but searching I couldn't find it so excuse me for starting this one. It's just to let you know that some of my old Traditional Music Hour shows from Resonance 104.4FM are now being broadcast on Radio Britfolk The first one went up today and should be there for 2 weeks. The show originally went out live so you get it warts and all. The initial show went out a couple of years ago in October so don't be confused by the reference to bad weather! Hope you enjoy it. Subject: RE: Radio Britfolk From: Mick Tems Date: 17 Apr 07 - 06:52 AM Anne Lister and I are putting together a series of 30-minute programmes entitled Dragonfire, which will concentrate on the scene from Wales. I'm already mulling over a selection including Sian Phillips' delightful Welsh Fiddle Festival at Pembroke; Tredegar House International Folk Festival at Newport; the Small Nations Festival at Cil-y-cwm; Fishguard Folk Festival; Gower Folk festival at Parkmill; Pontardawe International Festival; Gwyl Sesiwn Fawr at Dolgellau; and Beyond The Border Festival at St Donats, with a plethora of Welsh and international storytellers. I want to tell the world about the magnificent triple-harper Robin Huw Bowen and the breathtaking, absolutely cracking threesome of musicians who Robin plays with, called Crasdant; Ty Siamas, a state-of-the-art national folk centre, based at Dolgellau; Mered Evans and Phyllis Kinney; Tudur Huws Jones; Huw Chidgey and Katherine Handley; Pat Smith and Ned Clamp; Durum; Guto Dafis; Gwerinos; Sian James; Bob Delyn, Delyth Jenkins, the wonderful Llio Rhydderch; Parti Cut Lloi; Ceri Rhys Matthews and his work with the highly original Fernhill... I'm naming items off the top of my head, here - but Anne and I are quietly confident that if we can persuade you to move to Wales, then we'll have done our job! |
