Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: The Barden of England Date: 17 Apr 07 - 07:20 AM We always go to The Wavecrest, but that's probably booked. Give it a try though and some of the others here:- http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/fleetwoo.html There is also a 'Book now' button on most of these. I'd try and do it as there won't be many spaces left I wouldn't have thought. John Barden |

Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: Dave the Gnome Date: 17 Apr 07 - 10:37 AM If you are feelining really flush the North Euston is well worth stopping at - We did it once when I happened to have some extra cash for a change! Called the North Euston because they reckoned that Fleetwood was the furthest north that the north west railway (Was it the GWR?) would go. How wrong were they? Mind you - there is no station there now. There is no GWR either! Cheers Dave |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: Fran Date: 17 Apr 07 - 12:58 PM If you can't get in at the Wavecrest Try the Savoy Hotel, a few doors up and owned by the same couple so they may put you up at either. |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 17 Apr 07 - 01:45 PM Black Diamond - I'm an ex-morris person!! I go for the music, which is invariably great, and Alan has asked me in the last couple of years to either accompany him, or to do the odd spot at the North Euston. It's such a good time, and as someone put it, 'it's like Whitby without the hills'. John Barden |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: Black Diamond Date: 17 Apr 07 - 03:49 PM thanks for the suggestions, I will try them all the Wavecrest is full, and unfortunately we are not "flush" being but lowly paid employees of the local Hospice and supermarket, not teachers!!!! (ducks) we were going to camp, until we heard the horror stories! LOL Whitby without the hills sounds good too!!! John - hope to meet up with you there, I try to find sessions to join - after the morris dancing Lin |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: LesB Date: 17 Apr 07 - 07:44 PM I wouldn't worry too much about camping, most years it's quite balmy (the weather), & if you peg your tent down properly it shouldn't be too much of a problem. The nearest i,ve ever been able to get a digs is Clevelys. Cheers Les |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: GUEST,FFF MySpace Date: 17 Apr 07 - 08:53 PM and to keep you up to date on what's happening and link taster to FFF Artistes this year (on Myspace) Fylde 2007 MySpace |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: Dave the Gnome Date: 18 Apr 07 - 04:09 AM Camping is great if you get the weather - Over the last 5 years, 4 have been brilliant but last year was horrendous:-( Any chance of you borrowing a caravan or camper van? They are pitched right next to the Marine hall and don't suffer as much from the weather. Dave |
Subject: RE: accommodation atFylde Festival 2007 From: Black Diamond Date: 18 Apr 07 - 05:56 AM is Ok thanks there is absolutely nuffin in Fleetwood itself, but Ive managed to get in at Clevelys just didnt fancy camping as we do that year in year out anyway and I fancied a bit of luxury for once LOL |
