In case of any doubt,('cos it's not listed in TMSA booklet this year !!?) the 33rd Girvan Traditional Folk Festival takes place over the Mayday holiday weekend; Girvan, South Ayrshire...

This years guests include; Session A9, Back of the Moon, The Stars Band, Colum Sands, Maggie Macinnes, Janice clark, Geordie Murison, Oatcakes Ceilidh Band and childrens entertainer Mike Hancock.
also this year for the first time; secure campsite; £5 per person for the weekend, flatrate regardless of length of stay...

Come along and enjoy the best festival in Scotland; concerts, sessions, competitions, childrens entertainment, workshops.

Aaahh , didn't see that when i looked at the tmsa site tonight and i posted a prompt to them to list it !!! it isn't however listed in among the festivals and events.. it ought to be.....

nevertheless; a good weekend and with secure camping.. after last year's events it was, sadly, inevitable !!

should also mention, ayr's 4th monday folk session; this coming monday, 23rd april, at the market inn, castlehill rd, ayr... mainly session singing with guest spot... 8pm monday.

Ought to have said in my first post, it looks excellent - great line-up. I've never been, sadly, and it doesn't look like I'm going to make it this year (although I am working on it quite hard!).
