For all those times when you have nothing to do but wait for someone to get into the chat, just post in here and tell your fellow 'Catters to join you. I only know of me, Terry, Folkie, and Mary who are regulars to the chat. It's underused, in my opinion.

I'm bored and probably about to go in there, myself, so get the in the chat.

Its easy Countess Richard.

You click on the drop down icon to the right of where it says quick links at the top of the mudcat webpage.

You scroll down and select the menu choice Mudchat ( ) and then click on Go

You then click on the button that says Enter Mudchat.
(Little point if you can't see anybody listed under Active Chat Users)

You then type in the message box at the bottom of your screen and hit the Enter key on your keyboard. Your message will be displayed and others will respond. etc etc.

or if you want to be a "smart arse" you could sign in to an empty chat, minimise the window, open your browser, go into Mudcat (again) and you have a split screen with the chat visible for when your friends come out to play whilst you trawl the threads!

I got to hear Dick's life story and that was a damn good story! From seeing Burl Ives and Lead Belly to meeting Woody Guthrie and Jack Elliot and Dave Van Ronk and Bob Dylan (who he remembers as an "annoying punk called Zimmerman"). That was a good time.

Was quite happy with the 'wanna chat' (thanks for reminding us Sorcha) thread that was around previously. Actually I think that thread's a permathread which gets edited out occasionally which helps keep down unecessary posting too.

this thread is the one we use for chat invitations it is time tested and tried and true. It has been in use since 2002, and has served us all well. It is now at the top of the threads on the top of the page (not b.s.) and if you trace it
you can find it any time. There is no need to re-invent the wheel.
