The Station is very much involved in folk week but as part of the Fringe rather than as an official venue.

Just a quick Thank you to everyone for such a nice week! We have all enjoyed ourselves as much as I hope you all have. Thank you to Jude and Co for the card, it really made everyone's day behind the bar!

Thanks to Col and Andy for a great week, and to Jude for running singarounds that kept track of whose turn it was to sing (in order of arrival).

Kitty

PS Snuffy - you can now walk or cycle from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay along the railway path.

We would like to say thanks to all of the folk week customers. We had a great time and we hope you did as well. Thanks for the drinks that were bought for us and especially to Jude and the singers in the front room for your generosity. See you all next time.

Pat, Emma, Haley and the rest of the Station Inn staff

Like most people in this thread I have enjoyed many of the sessions in the Station Inn - it's just a shame that they now have to resort to playing muzak during the day!

Another great time at the Station! Why are we still calling it the tap and spile though on this thread? Nice to see the same staff as last year, not sure about the pierceed neck though!!?

I'd wondered whether to put up a Station thread not knowing there was one here.
Wondered indeed whether to keep Jude's excellent singarounds a secret for those who know.
Quality has built on quality over the years and The Station is certainly my first recourse at Whitby.
As to large instruments obviously if everyone brought a guitar that would be difficult and usually I defer to voice alone; but there was room this year at times for instruments and I wouldn't like to lose the variety.
John
