The lovely ballad singer Elizabeth LaPrelle will be performing at our concert series on May 19th! We are so delighted that she is finally coming (we've been working on finding a mutually suitable date for going on two years now!.) Here's a link with all the details: http://www.richmondfolkmusic.org/calendar.htm

(You may have to scroll down a bit - our webmaster hasn't tidied up after the last concert!)

To read more about Elizabeth, visit her website: http://www.old97wrecords.com/elizabeth-laprelle/index.htm

I agree- I bought her CD at the Getaway not really knowing her music (not at all actually) but knowing I liked 'that kind of music....' . She is awesome. Richmond is a bit far away from Maine and it conflicts with Sinsull's house concert but I suspect it would be a pleasure to hear her live...........

If you haven't heard her you're in for a special treat. I can't say enough about her, hearing is believing.

Well, I can't improve much on what Barry says...except to say she and her whole family are great folks and fun to be around.

Oh...and you may be surprised by the variety of the repertoire!

Would love to hear her sing in person. She didn't make it to the Getaway the year we came. Maybe she'll do a tour over here I'm sure we could get some contacts and there are a number of mudcatters who are involved in the old time American music scene here in the UK.

I would love to hear Elizabeth in person again - her CD is rarely far from my CD player too.

It was my hope, when I met her at the Getaway a few years ago, to get her invited over to England for the National Festival when time allowed, as her singing and material would go down very well with the traditional song lovers who went to the National.

However with the National losing its home and seemingly unable to find a new one, this plan hit the buffers.

Looking forward to her second CD.

Have fun in Richmond!

Elizabeth is a gem. Wish she could make it up to Maine for a house concert. Enjoy, Richmond!

Went to the concert.

It was great.

Don't miss her.

She sang with her aunt and uncle. Man, they're good.

If Elizabeth makes it within range of Maine,
I would love to hear her sing again!

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

It WAS a wonderful concert - we at Richmond Folk Music were pleased as punch! Our audience enjoyed themselves and it was an all around great evening. What a voice this little girl has!
