Subject: Back Porch Geetar to Debut Today.... From: Bobert Date: 05 May 07 - 08:48 AM Well, well, well... It's been a long journey but over the winter I had the most primitive electric geetar crafted outta a couple blocks of wood by Ted Crocker (tedcrockerguitars) an' today at 2:00 at the VFW Hall in Luray it will make its debut with my band "Sidewalk Bob and the Pedsetrians"... I wish I could do a blue cicky thing and maybe someone here will find the pics on the innernet and make one fir the poor no-so-pudder-savey hillbilly... But I am here to say that this "5 stringer" block of wood is somethin' to behold and has the sound of an old Telecater, especially when played thru my Fender Blues Junior tube amp... I know that this is a folkie site and, hey, I really am kinda folkie, even though I play a bastardized North Missisppi Hill Country footstomping kinda blues but... ...just thought I'd share this... BTW, I will be performing twice (free to the public) next Saturday, May 12th in Luray at the Festival of Spring so if their are any Catters who would like to hear and see me and the Back Porch'r live, come on down... From: Midchuck Date: 05 May 07 - 10:38 AM I know that this is a folkie site and, hey, I really am kinda folkie, even though I play a bastardized North Missisppi Hill Country footstomping kinda blues... What's the problem? That's a legitimate subcategory of "folk," IMO. If some "folks" are too puristic to allow it, I have eight words for them, the last six of which are "...if they can't take a joke." P. |

Hey, they let me lead the blues workshop at the Getaway and even give me a mini-concert so the stuff is at least in the ball park... But now if I show up with this Back Porch'r and Blues Junior amp they may change their tune ('er ask me nicely to change mine...) Opps, time to get the blue's threads on and the lawn mowin' jeans off... B;] |
