Subject: Lyr Req: Johnny with the empty phoo From: Granddad whiskers Date: 07 May 07 - 08:24 AM This song has been around in my wife's family since the early 1900 at least. Her family came from N. Ireland and had strong army and merchant marine influences. All we have is passed down as follows: Aye, my, ringcum, cokum Candy, Richard, Johnny with the empty phoo Off give flip-flap Jump, jump Dandy Shaghai, Tanghai Shum-tum-aloo The title is really unknown and the full extent of the lyrics. Currently this is being sung by our grandchildren around the world but we have never been able to trace the source of the song. Any help would be gratefully received. |
