Should have read the whole thread. You went and came back. That's good. Sorry for the crack about kissing the queen's ass. She's getting enough of that over here right now, and I don't know how you people stand it with her nesting over there. But that's a whole other issue.

If I were you I'd be pissed off for getting banned as a spammer. You want me to go there and rough them up a bit? Give them a blast of the Elizabeth Vagina noise? Be glad to do it. It's what I do best, pissing people off. Bunch of twits banned you for well-intentioned promotionals. You got me upset now. Just give the nod and I'll leave a stain in their archives that hydrochloric acid won't wash out.

Cheerio.

Excellent song, by the way, Lonesome EJ. The Villan is immortalized.

I agree with you about Countess Richard, but it's a shame to leave for one person when there are so many really lovely people on Mudcat. I nearly left a year or so ago but the people who were causing me the most grief were banned and things seemed to become much more pleasant. I don't read or post to nearly as many threads as I used to and have learned to avoid the ones I know will become flaming grounds, but when I was feelling really low and posted a thread saying so, I got so many lovely, supportive posts, and even a 'Mudcat Hug' shawl in the post from jacqui.c. It is worth a bit of unpleasantness for all that I think

Love Lynne

Btw, there are two people who post here whose posts I NEVER read. That's a good way to avoid the ones who give you a problem

I did, before I flamed Countess back, but CR was considered to be within acceptable lines. Not much I can do about that.

ah, the representative of the Wilfully Ignorant Brigade has turned up, I see

. . . a quote (not mine) from the Define the Tradition thread which could be applied to quite a few and I criticise them unremittingly en masse. They criticise me too, but not for what I've done or said but as a direct result of their own prejudiced assumptions based on christ-knows-what, as not one of them knows me.

The issue was 'Collapsing Clubs' and I related why, having been at most venues in the country over far too many years with a variety of hats on. Never been to Mr Villan's one so it's rather strange that he's upset. Must be a case of caps fitting but twisted knickers not. And where did I say he shouldn't do what he does (whatever that is) ? Sounds like he runs a concert-style venue with mainly MOR performers. Not my cup of Earl Grey but at least he doesn't try to call it a 'f*lk club'. And he's invited me to it but there's little chance of that with such patronising, sexist, backwoodspersons running rife throughout his clientele.

I'm clearly in a minority in this thread, but I am unable to regard the huffing and puffing and blustering pack of morons in their ridiculously-misfired bid to out me as anything but unpleasant. And I kicked them back. Tsk, how 'unladylike'. Pah! These included a Guest floorsinger who'd come along to self-promote who turned out to be so up himself that he snarled and whinged when I didn't fall over myself to accept his offer of an mp3. It'll be quite funny if he's thrown off Talkawhile.

Ah, yes. The Wilfully Ignorant Brigade. Don't (or can't) follow a coherent argument but bleat that anything's good enough for f*lk. No it isn't.

. . . oh, and Joe Offer wondered if I could consider being more conciliatory.
Confronted with such 'wilfully ignorant', piggish, anti-feminist and anti-music attitudes, absolutely not.

Hey, there was a post from The Shambles a minute ago, agreeing (broadly in passing), with me.
Gone.
Wonder why . . .

Can the posts deleted from this thread be restored please?

And if not - can some indication be given where this deletion has
taken place?

Thank you.
Dear Mr. Gall, Please don't bother asking about your deleted messages. They are all being deleted because you have requested that your Mudcat membership be suspended. They will not be restored.

The suspension will be lifted upon your request, provided that you agree not to discuss Mudcat policy or the Miskin Festival in the Forum.

Please do not post at Mudcat until the suspension has been lifted.

    Sincerely,

    -Joe Offer, Forum Moderator-

In fact, I think that's enough, period. Talk about music. There has been far too much bickering and whining here. This thread is closed, and I will close or delete any further threads that attempt to continue this discussion.
As has been made very clear, it is absolutely impossible for our editing to satisfy everybody. Shambles complains that we edit too much, and Villan that we edit too little. Others just complain. There will be no further public discussion of Mudcat editing or lack thereof. If you have a question, ask me. If you don't like my answer, ask Max.
-Joe Offer-
