Subject: BS: Silly Questions: Have You Ever Wondered.... From: Mickey191 Date: 07 May 07 - 06:31 PM Silly Questions I've seen this before and no one had an answer. With all the brilliant Catters here, perhaps I might get the answer. Here goes: How does a magician beat the laws of gravity and walk on water? Saw it again on TV today -- a camera also showed him kick off his shoes and walk barefoot. No visable strings attached. Anyone else have a S.Q.? |
Subject: RE: BS: Silly Question From: Sorcha Date: 07 May 07 - 06:38 PM Smoke and mirrors. They'll never tell. How did D. Copperfield disappear the Great Wall of China???? Why aren't we allowed to ask/start threads about if the Help Forum will come back?

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Question From: Mickey191 Date: 07 May 07 - 08:32 PM Thanks for the laughs Folks. Was the vodka in him, me or the pool? Sorcha-I should have said it was a swimming pool. I missed the Great Wall trick-have they found it yet? Jim, I didn't know that. Is that why my sodas are sooo watery? He also had a girl sit in a chair-covered her with a sheet-Said a few heeby jeebys - pulled the sheet off & the Girl was gone. This in front of lots of people. Michaeir-yours sounds most plausible-but because there were people around the pool-think he'd fear exposure. OH-Oh- maybe they're all on his payroll. Shucks! This was on Oprah's show today. |
Subject: RE: BS: Silly Question From: kendall Date: 08 May 07 - 07:13 AM Jesus is said to have walked on water. Was he a magician? I used to watch a magician from backstage, and he didn't like it because I could see how he did his tricks. So simple when you are in the right position. |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Question From: jonm Date: 08 May 07 - 09:44 AM Steve Harley (Cockney Rebel, Come Up and See Me) once played a gig where the audience would be across a small lake from the stage. He arranged for a walkway in transparent plastic to be constructed about 2" below the surface so he could walk across to the audience - never a shrinking violet, Steve! Unfortunately, by the time of the gig, the hot weather had driven many of the crowd into the lake and they were all sitting on his plastic walkway, spoiling the effect. |
