A dear friend of mine runs a non-profit called SongSharing, where he gets musicians (including himself, and famous people coming through town) to play free music for people who are stuck somewhere without it, like old folks in homes, housebound disabled adults, children's hospitals, and so on.

As a fund-raiser, he's going to be raffling off a piano that was signed by Billy Joel specifically for this purpose.

Anybody want in on the raffle? Anybody rich want to sponsor the event?

This is a good cause and a good deal - Google SongSharing and see what you come up with. I'm not including a blicky so you'll see all the stuff, not just his individual website.

Occasion, I am not sure how Billy got involved.

It sounds like a great cause. But at the risk of being called PC I think you'll find that many groups have stopped using the word "retarded".

PC term is sually the more inclusive 'Developmentally Impaired' since that covers a much wider range of disabilities.

'Retarded' was used so much as an insult for so many years that yes, even most of the developmentally impaired recognise it as an insulting term. I've seen an adult Down's Syndrome person crying over the designation, and that was twenty years ago. Why use a word that hurts people?
