Subject: Jean Lee Memorial Day (UK) From: nutty Date: 11 May 07 - 03:12 PM John Taylor rang tonight to say that a Memorial Day for Jean has been arranged on 16th June at the Conservative Club in Saltburn. Because so few people were able to attend Jean's funeral, Jim is hoping that this day will give all Jeans friends an opportunity to get together and celebrate her life in time honoured fashion. I do hope that the date is appropriate for all. Hazel Bolton |

Subject: RE: Jean Lee Memorial Day From: r.padgett Date: 08 Jun 07 - 05:02 PM I was so sorry to learn of Jean's passing and have fond memories of Jim and Jean at Saltburn, Cleckheaton and Cleethorpes over the very many years that I have known them Jean was an avid follower of good traditional singing, and The Wilson Family in particular having I believe 'put them up' during certain recording sessions Jean's Leeds accent and typical forthrightness were endearing particularly with her broad smile and laugh. Even when she was not very well last year and being pushed by Jim in the wheelchair she was as keen as ever Jim and Jean always knew where the craic was and if they weren't there you knew you were missing some thing cos they followed the quality interest I have arranged to do some recording with Steve Gradham next week end, for the Yorkshire Garland so I will not make it to Saltburn, please give my condolences to Jim and I hope to see everyone there in August particularly for 'Fred' and I hope Jim enters and gives us a song or two (Fine Old Yorkshire Gentleman)(ticket or no!) All the very best Jim see you at the festival Ray |
