Subject: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Little Hawk Date: 15 May 07 - 11:20 PM Watch this video! A smallish tortoise drives trespassing cats from its garden with the slow and steady approach, doggedly and persistently hounding them until they vacate the area. Darned funny to watch. This is one determined tortoise. Turtle versus feline! |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Little Hawk Date: 15 May 07 - 11:25 PM By gosh, this is even better! A rabbit trees a snake! I kid you not. You must see it to believe it. Rabbit drives much larger snake up a tree! |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Ron Davies Date: 15 May 07 - 11:39 PM Those were pretty impressive, all right. What do you think the rabbit was on? Almost looked like a cartoon. |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Ebbie Date: 15 May 07 - 11:42 PM Rabbits are not as docile as many people think- I knew one that frequently fought an arnery rooster- and always won. It would end with the rooster squawking and running and jumping to get away, with the rabbit right behind it, its mouth full of feathers. The turtle and cats one is very funny- the the yellow cat, especially, acts as though it just can't believe it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 May 07 - 05:17 AM Peace, that last one is, strictly speaking, wrong. It's not a killer bite, it's a killer squeeze and the rabbit was put there deliberately in order to be the snake's food, rather than a chance encounter as the previous rabbit on snake action was. The tortoise on cat action was pretty funny, but not surprising... those tortoises are like armour plated pies that bite back! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 16 May 07 - 05:36 AM my friend had a tortoise that hated white socks. If you took off your shoes and you had white socks on it'd hurtle across the room to nip your toes... Black socks were fine, just white ones.. |

Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Georgiansilver Date: 16 May 07 - 12:35 PM Don't wear tortoishell coloured socks or your foot might be more than attacked!!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Liz the Squeak Date: 17 May 07 - 05:19 AM So THAT'S what happened to the meat pie I left in the garden... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Charley Noble Date: 17 May 07 - 09:37 PM Little Hawk- I don't think that the tortise actually moves like any tortise I've ever seen. Could it really be a radio-controled robot? It's certainly well designed. The cats look and act real but that tortise is downright weird. But maybe it's on drugs! Charley Noble |
Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Little Hawk Date: 18 May 07 - 01:02 AM That is definitely a real tortoise, Charley. It moves exactly like the ones I've seen. There is no way that it is a robot or anything but a real tortoise. |

Subject: RE: BS: Tortoise defends its garden against cats From: Jean(eanjay) Date: 20 May 07 - 06:49 PM I didn't like the ones about the snake killing the rabbits - I wish I hadn't watched them, I don't know why I did. |
