Finally back on line after the past few days. Must re-set my cookie now I'm at home. Obviously the gods smiled on us on Sunday, so good to see so many turn up despite the heavy rain in the morning. Have just managed to take the gazebo's down today. I've still got plenty of beer left though. Richard I've still got your chair, (and yours' too Woodsie. Also a portable BBQ which I found in the shed and was very wary of. I understand from Mick Forde that it could be Pete's - when do you want to re-claim it.) I'll be doen your way in the next couple of weeks Richard. I have told Val that weather permitting I'll come down and help with the garden(s) Monday week.See you all soon

We had a great time at the bbq,my grandaughter aged 5 was impressed with the singing.As for my rendition of Lola it was not my intention to display any prowess as a performer,I put the blame squarely on the birds I had with me .They are all named speckled hen!

I am really fed up..... Bill and I cannot come after all, we had a phone call last night and cousins from Salisbury want to come up for the weekend to see my aged parents! Bill and I were so sad to hear the news, Peter was a lovely man, he was always there sitting quietly in the background at various occasions that Dave was involved in.He was fantastic when Dave was ill and I know you will miss him Linda.

We are all very sorry to see Peter go, he has been a great help to me fitting my kitchen and doing various electrical works since Dave died. He was always helping friends, family and old workmates as well as being a regular volunteer for the National Trust and yet would never ask anything for himself.

Very sad to hear about Peter. John is so right - when we visited Dave in hospital after his stroke, Peter was virtually a permanent fixture at his bedside.

Well the weather wasn't too brill on Sunday (the usual date for the annual bash), neither was the news that Dave Bryants' twin brother Peter, whom many of you knew, died the same day after a short illness.Let's hope things improve.

Richard, I've got a gas BBQ for those who are vegans or anyone else who wants to cook unsullied. If anyone needs to stay overnight, I've got the caravan or sofa/floor space. Otherwise you could always put a small tent up in the garden now that I've got some extra space.

Linda provides metal barbecues, charcoal, firelighters, salads and vegetables, bread, etc, and sometimes a pretty good paella. And more importantly, 2 casks of lethal homebrew.

Bring your own meat or fish, and if you want kosher or al-halal, your own barbecue and charcoal. Also bring contributions to the booze.

Women may want to bring food offerings 'n' stuff. Possibly death by chocolate puddings. Of no interest to real men of course.

Well it's that time of year again folks. BBQ is set for Sunday 1st July, a bit later than usual owing to other events (as well as son's 'A' levels)Same format as before. The beer is made - 5 gallons for Knockholt and 10 for the BBQ. All mudcatters welcome, any that haven't been before just PM me for directions.
