Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: BusyBee Paul Date: 25 May 07 - 09:26 AM Sorry Villan - you've got a mega clash - JB at Lincoln and New Rope String Band in Lea (which is where I'll be). Sorry mate. |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 25 May 07 - 11:25 AM Thats the way the cookie crumbles Deirdre :-) |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rockhen Date: 25 May 07 - 11:36 AM Does Lincoln club always clash, then? I've just seen the thread about John playing. I thought the Lincoln club hadn't been running and had only recently started up again? If so, what a shame they decided to do it the same night as Faldingworth which is quite near! I appreciate that there are several clubs in the area but it seems such a pity. I expect they had to work around other clubs, also nearby, but it would be so much nicer to have the choice of both gigs this next week. We will be there, (Faldingworth!) anyway, Villan :-) |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Backwoodsman Date: 25 May 07 - 12:01 PM Lincoln FC traditionally (and I mean going back to the 60's) has been on a Friday night. It ran on a Monday for a period because there wasn't a suitable venue available on Fridays, but for the past couple of years it's been back to its traditional night. |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rockhen Date: 25 May 07 - 12:20 PM Oh, ok, ta for that. All the best to John and hopefully both venues will get a good turn-out. Is good if everyone can support each other. Looking forward to playing and hearing everyone at Faldingworth, Villan, anyway. Is that Chris Treeboard of Treebeard/Haze etc fame? If so, looking forward to hearing him in a duo for a change. |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 25 May 07 - 01:39 PM I am not sure Rockhen. I just noticed that Paul Pearson had posted somewhere that Chris was with him next Friday. I could do with Paul Pearson's telephone number as I have lost a lot of my data, due to my laptop failig me last week. Brand new laptop now, but all my e-mails are gone and I had his number on one of my e-mails. Anybody that can help me there please, could you pm me. Ta |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Sooz Date: 25 May 07 - 02:21 PM PM on its way..... BTW Lincoln folk club has been running on alternate Fridays for nearly as long as Faldingworth Live! |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 25 May 07 - 02:30 PM Got the PM Sooz thanks |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rockhen Date: 25 May 07 - 03:24 PM Just found out it IS the same Chris Treebeard. Ok Sooz, ta for that, I have only been going to Faldingworth a couple of years and have not been to many folk clubs before that so don't know much about the folk scene anyway. There just aren't enough nights in the week! |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 25 May 07 - 03:43 PM OK can we get back on track for Faldingworth Live. theer is another thread for Lincoln FC. So you know Chris then Rockhen ? |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rockhen Date: 25 May 07 - 05:30 PM I don't know him that well but I have heard him play with quite a few bands. He has a website Chris Treebeard related Bands He has always sounded very good when we have seen him and I have seen him play accordion, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar amongst other things, sometimes two instruments at once! Mr Rockhen (! he has got to have his own name!) had two great gigs with him at Caistor with his bands Silverwheel and Haze... SO I am looking forward to hearing him play as a duo next Friday. It should be a really varied night which is great. Interesting fact, unrelated to his musical performance...He often plays without shoes... :-) Actually Villan, if Chris brings his accordion, will you distract him while I sneak off with it, it is bigger than mine! One can never have enough notes on an accordion :-) |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 26 May 07 - 01:56 AM >>He often plays without shoes... :-)<< I would think it was a bit difficult to play with shoes on :-) |

Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rockhen Date: 29 May 07 - 05:47 AM Looking forward to it. I am, however, somewhat concerned about the evening... If it was WWW playing, I'd lend Chris Treebeard some socks...,(we carry extra supplies,) he does often play sockless but I am afraid it may distract the audience with such shocking behaviour in a respectable village like Faldingworth. Unfortunately, on Friday June 1st at Faldingworth Live...(note the plug of the evening, again...) he will have to manage, as Helian Keys don't usually bother bring extra pairs...Do you think the audience will cope with this, Villan? Have feet ever been seen there before? Maybe if Steve brings his hat we could place it delicately and strategically to shield any delicate eyes? What? I am talking a load of rubbish? Have I been drinking? Er...well, I am just drinking a cup of tea, does that count..? |
Subject: RE: Faldingworth Live Friday June 1st 2007 From: Rasener Date: 29 May 07 - 06:47 AM Maybe a spray will suffice :-) |
