Subject: RE: Origins: Meet me n cornfield, kiss u tween ears From: GUEST,Bob Coltman Date: 01 Jun 07 - 10:05 AM Hi Flash, I'm fascinated by "When I Met Connie in the Cornfield." Was it sung to the tune of "Way Down Yonder in the Cornfield?" Any idea where your Mum got it? Any idea what was its origin? As for "Meet me" "behind the ears" / "between the ears" Where *does* that line come from? It has the sound of a tag line from a show, movie, stage routine or some similar patter. Hee Haw? Earlier? It tickles my memory but I can't dredge up the reference. (As an aside, and please don't feel obliged to answer if you don't want to: Excuse me if this is indiscreet, but are you the F.C. of sci fi and recorded fame? If so I am a fan, as I'm sure are many of us here.) Bob |
