From: Tim theTwangler

Over here in Great Grimsby we have all been adding our tracks to a Double cd that has been recorded locally to raise money for charity.
If you look on your world map Grimsby is just under that peice of Digestive biscuit that got soggy and broke off last year!
The CD,s are rumoured to be priced at £5 each available individualy.
I will be posting a list of the performers and such like stuff soon so watch this space.
Cheers
Tim

Just had a preveiw of a certain Mr Moodies track and his guitar work is great.

Yeah, you got a real arm-twisting to step in as 'MC', Ian. Good job, though and it was a good night. Allen should be proud of the cd, it sounded great, or rather, they both did.
Hope there is a good turn out on Tuesday and hope we can all work on selling the cds. They are well worth buying for the music, AS WELL as the good causes they are helping. Great tracks. Looking forward to finally getting my hands on my own copies of the cd on Tuesday.

Don't forget folks, all welcome at the Tap and Spile pub in Grimsby, UK this Tuesday! ...Don't forget to buy the cds, plus some for your friends! :-)

Apparently, Viking FM will be there so that will be another plus in promoting the CD. I think it would be great if a couple of local businesses in, Grimsby and possibly, Lincoln and Scunthorpe would take the CDs on, to offer them for sale, from them. Anyone know of somewhere likely to agree? It is useful if people know they can buy the cds from somewhere rather than having to order by post.

Nah, don't think many from the Tap are bothered about publicity apart from how it relates to selling the CD. Most people there just want to play music, I reckon.

It was a great night and a stonking start to the cd sales!
I didnt actually say that the people from the Tap would be publicity hungry for themselves.
But you often get folks who turn up while the press are on hand and bugger orf soon as the cameras disappear seen it before.
Was a great fun night.
And the singaround went really well too.

£480 made on the night, if I heard correctly. That figure is bound to go way up once people hear the quality of the music on offer.

All profits go to two children's charities NCH Grimsby and Viking FM's For the Kids.

Not bad at all.
I was talking to a guy In the pub last night.
Never saw him before in my life.
He was raving about the music and he commented on the quality of the production and was asking about the studio set up.
He said we must have paid out a fortune to get such a good sounding cd together.
YOu have doen us all proud by putting our music over in such a great way mate.
Cheers

OK flippant answer above
have mad inquieries and so far there are around 70 of each cd been sold.
So 140 cds around £700 cash in already and another 30 or so of each still out at the various points of sale and in peoples guitar and handbags.
Hoping to arrange a live all selling event in Grimsby but no details available as yet.

Go here for a free preview

Thansk to all who have so far bought the cd and supported the charity appeal.

Nice one, organising this, Tim...THE EVENT is nearly here....This Saturday at Freeman Street, Market,(Grimsby, England!) ...local musicians performing to promote the Tap and Spile Charity CD. Anyone in the area, please come and say, hello! There will be a handy bucket for you to get rid of any annoying heavy change, or even some of that nasty paper money stuff...You can EVEN buy one or both of the CDs at just £5 each. Please support these good causes. (See above for full info re CDs and charities.)
I think the music is starting at 10 and going on until teatime.

I will donate a double CD         "Tuesday Night @ the Tap & Spile"         for the raffle

- 38 tracks of covers, original songs and poetry recorded by the Grimsby Tappites who attend the regular open mic/acoustic nights. It features several Mudcat members such as Tim the Twangler, Rockhen and myself as well as a number of Mudcat guests

Those who are not lucky enough to win it could buy the CD's at £5 each (£10 the pair). All profits are donated to the National Children's Home (Grimsby) and Viking FM's "For the Kids" charity. For each double set sold (as a set) during the weekend, I will donate a further 50p to Mudcat.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the CD's, either P.M. me or let me know in this thread

It's called a loss leader Tim - a clever marketing ploy to get people's interest then snatch the money out of their hands before they have a chance to change their minds. I've already sold my own copies on two occasions and had to replace them rather than lose a sale.

Anyway, you've gone a bit formal haven't you, or has stardom gone to your head? Will I be able to say, in the future, "I knew him when he was just Tim the Twangler".
