Just In case anyone has been wondering what I'm doing these days, I thought I'd draw attention to the tour I'll be doing in England and Wales this month. As one 1/2 of FUNI a duo with my partner the great Icelandic traditional singer Bára Grímsdóttir, I´ll be playing in folk clubs and the like. Our repertoire is a mix of trad songs and some new ones from Iceland and England accompanied with Guitar, Kantele, Langspil and Icelandic fiðla. Maybe because of it´s relative isolation and small population, Iceland´s trad song has been largely overlooked, which is a great shame because it is very rich, varied and beautiful. If you are interested in hearing for yourselves, this is our tour schedule. You can also check us out on myspace.com/funireykjavik and myspace.com/chrisfosterfolk

June 15 - Court Sessions, Tooting, S. London
June 16 - The Folk House, Bristol, Jim Moray’s 4 letter word festival
June 17 - The Port Mahon, St Clements, Oxford
June 18 - Bacup Folk Club, Bacup, Lancs
June 19 - Silsden Singing Group (Icelandic singing workshop), Silsden, W. Yorks
June 21 - Royal Oak Folk Club, Lewes, Sussex â€" Chris Solo
June 22 - The Fo’c’sle Folk Club, Portswood, Southampton
June 23 - Stiwdio Felin Fach (house concert for Dylan Fowler), Abergavenny
June 24 - Bothy Folk Song Club, Southport, Lancs â€" Chris Solo
June 28 - Polaris Folk Club, Roberttown, W. Yorks
June 29 - Frodsham Folk Club, Cheshire
July 2    - 3 in the Round, Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Hoping to see some of you along our way.

Cheers, Chris

I'm having trouble with the player on your first link but the second one's fine except for the accent.
Grin!
Can you make it work, Chris?

If you have trouble viewing this page, go to the "View" menu on your browser and then to "Character Encoding." There are probably several encoding selections that will allow you to read this page correctly - one is Unicode UTF-8.
Good luck with your concert tour, Chris.

I love the old medieval tones and modes. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing!

Chris is a really fine singer of English songs. When performing with Bara the effect of the voices and instruments is stunning.

I can still vividly remember an Icelandic song workshop last summer at Common Ground in Scotland

Will certainly get to one - or hopefully one of each - when tour moves up north.
