Strange indeed. It looks like a parade of Morris Dancing Giants.

When I was a child, the local fair/bazaar always had a pair of circus performers who danced on these flexible poles. Hypnotic and graceful.

I saw 'em in Japan at a festival I was also performing at - fantastic show and lovely people.
