If you ask in the forum you will usually get some help. I learnt to play several of his songs from here and the guy who runs it is really helpful.

I went to a workshop last year on Dougie's playing, and it seems he favours open C tuning which does make a slight difference if you're in standard tuning! But wasn't it Nick who took the workshops?
