Subject: Lyr Req: /Lyr Add: Soylent Green (Fiddlers...) From: Haruo Date: 17 Jun 07 - 01:52 AM Just got home from a Northwest Seaport concert where Sänger & Didele sang a recent concoction of Homer's, the refrain of which runs roughly thusly: Dress me up in my best suit and drop me I'm hoping to get the full lyrics soon. Haruo PS Fiddlers Green |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: /Lyr Add: Soylent Green (Fiddlers...) From: Haruo Date: 17 Jun 07 - 03:19 AM I should mention that they dedicated it to their father, who was in the audience, as a Fathers' Day gift. Also, that they say it is going to be on their next CD, due out in September. Haruo |
Subject: Lyr Add: TRIBUTE TO PROCESSED FOODS (Homer Didele) From: GUEST,Homer Didele Date: 20 Aug 08 - 02:05 PM Sorry ... not out by September ... of this year, either. I just saw your thread, and thought I'd give you the whole thing ... and the title is actually "A TRIBUTE TO PROCESSED FOODS" (I) Went down to my doc's on a Monday so fair. He said I was wrinkly and losing my hair. He said I should give up ... that this was my time, But to lose all that protein would be quite a crime. (CHORUS) Dress me up in my best suit and drop me At the church by that big factory. D'you know what's for dinner? That's right, I'm the winner! You'll have me someday as Soylent Green. (II) Now, Soylent Green is the stuff that we eat, Since the government told us we'd run out of meat. I know that you'd like it, if try it you would.* Who knew Uncle Benny would taste so darned good? (CHORUS) (III) Now Charlton Heston may be quite upset, But, if you try it, you'll like it, I bet. It can taste like whatever you'd like it to taste. It's so nice to know Grandma did not go to waste. (CHORUS) *This line was originally "It's perfect for dinner, whatever your mood", but I wasn't enjoying the "mood/good" rhyme, so I rewrote it as seen here. Traditionalists should feel free to use the original version, and complain about people using altered lyrics. I know I complain about myself all the time. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Soylent Green (parody of Fiddler's Green) From: Nigel Parsons Date: 10 Dec 12 - 06:10 AM There was a song challenge on the subject of foetal meat in foodstuffs. I hadn't previously seen this thread, so I'm re-posting this here as it follows the theme: Foetal Meat tto M*A*S*H* What's on this plate in front of me? A diff'rent food I seem to see. It slips down, oh so easily. It's shallow fried, not greasily … Oh Soylent Green® is 'armless Quite literally armless The meat is all well processed as you see. I had some good stuff yesterday, It really took my breath away, Both jalapenos & flambé The bog-roll's iced, what more's to say? Mashed Soylent Green® is pleasant, They flavour it with p(h)easant. And Soylent® is the only game today … My gourmet palate's oh so keen I can't abide the Soya Bean And tofu puddings are obscene I'm sure you all know what I mean! But Soylent Green's® fantastic It doesn't taste of plastic It truly is the best food on the scene, ... You really taste the meat in Soylent Green® ... The whole world should be fed on SOYLENT GREEN® Cheers Nigel |
