Subject: Lyr Add: TRY TO REMEMBER (T Jones, H Schmidt) From: Joe Offer Date: 29 Jun 97 - 02:25 AM TRY TO REMEMBER Try to remember the kind of September When life was slow and oh, so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain was yellow. Try to remember the kind of September When you were a tender and callow fellow, Try to remember and if you remember the follow. Try to remember when life was so tender That no one wept except the willow. Try to remember when life was so tender that Dreams were kept beside your pillow. Try to remember when life was so tender that Love was an ember about to billow. Try to remember and if you remember then follow. Deep in December it's nice to remember Although you know the snow will follow. Deep in December it's nice to remember Without the hurt the heart is hollow. Deep in December it's nice to remember The fire of September that made us mellow. Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow. -words, Tom Jones, 1960 music, Harvey Schmidt From "The Fantasticks" If I recall, this Tom Jones was not the heartthrob with the pretentious voice, who never seemed to be able to button his shirt. |

Subject: RE: Lyrics request: From: Ralph Butts Date: 15 Mar 97 - 03:30 PM Just a bit more about this one... "The Fantasticks" has been playing in New York since George Washington slept there (actually, since 1960), and is full of great songs. "Try To Remember" was sung by Jerry Orbach, who now plays a TV cop ("Law and Order"). .......Tiger

Subject: Lyrics request: From: lasala@jet.es Date: 15 Mar 97 - 01:55 PM I'd like to find the lyrics of a pretty traditional american song titled "Try to remember". Once I listened this song played by The Brothers Four in the early 90's. Also, this song could be heard at one fiction film, starred by Kris Kristofferson, where the States were invaded by the former U.R.S.S. and this song called for remembering how was life before invasion. I'm surprised because this song doesn't appear at the fabulous Digitrad Database, a terrific collecting songs work or perhaps, I'm not able to find it. Thanks folks!
