Subject: Lyr Add: DON'T COME AGAIN (Paul Brady) From: GUEST,Henryp Date: 26 Feb 10 - 03:46 PM Don't Come Again (Traditional) The first place that I saw my love, it was at a ball I looked at her, I gazed at her, far above them all But aye she look-ed on me with scorn and disdain And the bonny wee lassie's answer was to no come again Was to no come again And the bonny wee lassie's answer was to no come again The next place that I saw my love, it was at a wake I looked at her, I gazed at her, I thought my heart would break But aye she look-ed on me with scorn and disdain And the bonnie wee lassie's answer was to no come again Was to no come again And the bonny wee lassie's answer was to not come again It being six months after, a little or above When Cupid shot his arrow and he's wounded my true love He's wounded her severely which caused her to complain And she's wrote to me a letter sayin' "You might come again" sayin'"You might come again" And she wrote to me a letter, sayin' "You might come again" Well, I wrote her back an answer for to let her know While life was in my body t'was there I wouldnae go While life was in my body and while it does remain I will aye mind the girl who said don't come again Who said don't come again I will aye mind the girl who said don't come again So come all you pretty fair maids a warning take by me Never slight a young man wherever you may be For if you do you're sure to rue and cause you to complain And you'll aye rue the day that you said, "Don't come again" You said "Don't come again" And you'll aye mind the day that you said, "Don't come again" Paul has finished a new CD. I was expecting a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs, including Lord Thomas recorded with Andy Irvine. However, Paul now says; But to cut a long story short, the CD is coming out everywhere except North America on March 15th 2010. We are still working on a precise release schedule in North America and will inform you as soon as we know. Of course it will be immediately available mail order to anywhere in the world from my website, all global digital download platforms such as iTunes and on CD from Amazon and all similar mail order houses. The album is called 'Hooba Dooba', features 12 songs, ten new ones, one previously existing song of mine which I never before recorded and a Lennon/ McCartney song. A collaboration between my label, PeeBee Music and UK's Proper Records, we will be introducing it to fans, media and radio in the the early part of next year. Be prepared for some surprises! It's an exciting time for me and to launch the record. I'm touring Ireland and UK with band in April 2010, dates on the website tour dates page. The Irish tour includes two nights at Dublin's brand new Grand Canal Theatre. There are one or two dates yet to be added which we'll flag in the next week or so. |

Subject: RE: Paul Bradt/ Don't Come Again From: John Moulden Date: 11 Apr 99 - 06:10 PM Paul learned the song from Eddie Butcher of Magilligan Co (London)derry. It also appeared on ballad sheets. Eddie sang for the verse in question: I wrote her back an answer all for to let her know, While life was in my body, it's there I would not go, While life was in my body and while it does remain. I will aye mind the girl that said Don't come again. Eddie's performance was on"Shamrock, Roase and Thistle" Leader LED 2070, (Vinyl) of which Ulstersongs has a few. John Moulden
