Somebody said something last year about the Rugby Club, but I have forgotten the details, can someone please help me out?

Hi Giok

I think what you have to do is go to the rugby field on arrival and pay for the week.

i don't think there is advance booking.

Either that or the car park opposite The Bedford - but you need to get there before 9am. Pay for the week and you're done.

Or the Cricket Club, also near The Bedford----and you can come and go on the same ticket ; they don"t charge you again ( providing you kept the ticket, that is ! ).

The rugby club must take bookings in advance because people have mentioned here on Mudcat that it has been sold out in advance in the past.
The cricket club won't let you on their site until Sunday morning because they always have a match on the Saturday. It does have the best views though.
You need to get there early to get parking at The Bedford car park, many arrive on the Thursday to get a space.
You can use the official campsite without buying a season ticket now and the bus service is second to none.
