Lyr Req: Cajun waltz from movie 'Sounder'

Subject: Help me identify two haunting love songs

I heard and could never forget two hauntingly beautiful songs from movies. One was the Cajun Waltz in "Sounder" when the drifter danced with the black woman in the sharecropper shack. The other was crooned by a transvestite in a caberet in a Pink Panther movie. Does anybody remember these scenes, and do you know the songs?

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but Taj Mahal has a "Sounder Medley" on Taj's Blues. It's strictly instrumental. It is from the "Sounder" Soundtrack. Reminds me I must go back and watch the movie.

I've seen every Pink Panther movie more than once, but I'm sorry I can't remember the scene, let alone the song.
