I did hear that Sir John was to follow in the footsteps of that other Sir John of big business fame with a TV series.

Expect to see "Troublemaker" on your screens soon.

Why is it that the only part of your post I believe is the part about the cigars?

Come to think of it, are there any cigars that aren't rolled up?

But don't let me take attention away from the Gareth Pearson event, which is the true and important reason for this thread.

Hi Leeneia
Sir John is alive and well. He now owns a chain of taxi businesses in the Hull area and may be branching out into the airline industry.
He has had a haircut and looks the true city gent - smoking rollup cigars. He does still occasionally post on Mudcat so is still lurking. When I see him again I will tell him you were asking after him.

Gareth Pearson is an acoustic guitar player and composer in the short time he has been playing he has achieved much, including touring with TOMMY EMMANUEL, playing at the CHET ATKINS Appreciation Society Convention in Nashville, a number of radio and TV appearances, and was personally invited to open for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at their New Year Party in New York. He has also opened for RAY DAVIES from legendary band THE KINKS.

Gareth's influences are wide, including guitarists Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed and others but his own distinctive voice is clearly audible in his own compositions, some of which appear on his new release Adrenaline Rush.
