Our next Open Night at Shammick Acoustic is on Saturday 14th July at The Castle, High Street, Combe Martin.

We are delighted to be able to welcome Dave Lowry and Barry Lister as visiting performers that night. Dave and Barry were both members of the superb a capella group Isca Fayre, based in Exeter in the '70s. They may be looking older and greyer, but their voices are as good as ever, if not better. They are now half of The Claque along with Tom Addison (late of The Songwainers) and Sean O'Shea, and are achieving some acclaim further afield than Devon. On Saturday, though, we'll be hearing more solo performances, with plenty of choruses and humour.

Barry and Dave are well used to the sort of evening we have at Shammick Acoustic, and are always keen to involve others in performing, so if you're in the vicinity and want to sing, play, recite a poem, tell a story or even a joke, we'd be delighted to hear you, and if you don't, we'll be delighted to see you. Either way, you'll be very welcome at our friendly and relaxed evening.

It's free to come in, with a collection taken which goes towards the expenses of our visiting performers, and to subsidising our occasional skills workshops.

The Castle serves excellent real ale - and the car park is at the rear. Please contact me here or PM me if you need any further information.

Barbara

There's no need to apologise for a bit of freshening. It does help, though, to include the country in the thread title. It makes it easier and faster for folks to scan through for things which may be relevant to their neck of the woods.

Good luck,. Hope you get lots of folks.

I'm glad someone was able to add the (UK) to the title. I tried to include it but it didn't seem to want to be that long, and I did want to get the 'Devon' in.
