I'll be in and around Warwickshire for the next 2 weeks, and am keen to see some morris dancing (sadly, I won't be able to go to Warwick festival this year). Anyone here dancing, or know who else is dancing when or where?

Many thanks,

~D

In the meantime you could use this to locate teams in the area:-
Morris Ring Side Finder. Many will have a web site which may contain a current dance-out programme.
Quack!

For instance (a fairly random choice - I don't actually know them) Elephant up a pole.
There may be more out there if you look.
Quack!

Geoff--that's brilliant, one hit already! I'm staying about 10 minutes from Tanworth (and am planning a TiA pilgrimage in any case, as my partner's a huge Nick Drake fan), and so will definitely drop by the Bell on the 19th!

Thanks!

~D

I've NO IDEA where it is...
Purely a random selection from the web sites linked from the Side Finder.
Quack!
Geoff.

The Adderbury Morris Men are dancing with Ilmington Morris (two revival Traditional teams) on Wednesday, 18th July at the Dun Cow, Hornton with Ilmington, 8.00pm.
A great rural pub in a wonderful North Oxfordshire village not far from the warwickshire border.

Tim Radford (ex squire & Foreman of the Adderbury Morris Men)

Desdemona - if you want a map, the postcode for the Dun Cow is OX15 6DA, and it's about 3 miles north west of Banbury. (BTW, Banbury folk club will be meeting the same night, 18 July, at the Mill.)

Some 40 miles away there's a ring meeting on Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July.

See the Stafford Morris Men's web site for details - http://www.staffordmorris.org.uk/

Hi Desdemona, I'm sure you'll find plenty going on, but my little contribution to your datebase is that.....
Rose & Castle and Queens Oak are having their joint weekend of dance this weekend. Based at Ashton near Northampton The teams will be bussed around the area on Sat & the Sunday lunchtime farewell dance will be at Stoke Bruerne. The actual places we will be dancing at you will have to check with the organisers. I will be dancing with Southport Swords
and I believe that Persephone & Stockport will be there as well. There may be others.

You guys are amazing, thanks; at this point we'll definitely be at Tanworth and probably be at the Dun Cow. This place always comes through!
