Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Whatever' by the Statler Brothers From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Jul 07 - 03:31 AM Hi, Umpastor- Can you remember anything of the song? Is this the one where the parent/olderperson says or asks something, and the teenager's response is always, "Whatever"? I vaguely recall a song like that. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Whatever' by the Statler Brothers From: Jim Dixon Date: 15 Jul 07 - 10:17 PM Allmusic.com says that The Statler Brothers recorded a song called WHATEVER on their album "The Legend Goes On," Mercury LP 826278, 1982. To find the lyrics, it would probably help to have a quote from the song. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Whatever' by the Statler Brothers From: Jim Dixon Date: 17 Jul 07 - 08:19 AM I found these lyrics at a square-dance web site. The lyrics were interspersed with square-dance "calls" which I have omitted. The lyrics were attributed to "Toots Richardson" who seems to be the square-dance caller who recorded this version. WHATEVER Whatever it takes to make you happy, I'll do Whatever lights your candle, whatever turns your handle Whatever, whatever is good for you Whatever peels your banana, whatever plays your piano Whatever, whatever mows your lawn, let's go on Whatever plows your garden, whatever begs your pardon Whatever, whatever breaks your bread, go ahead Whatever slays your dragon, whatever paints your wagon Whatever it takes to show your stuff Whatever, whatever is good for you |
