The Duncan McFarlane Band are playing this Sturday (21st July) at the Abbey Festival however they will NOT be playing at the Abbey Inn but at the Owl in Rodley. They'll be onstage at 9:15pm or thereabouts and there will also be music on beforehand. The evening will kick off at 7pm and is FREE OF CHARGE, although it would be nice if you'd throw some money in the bucket for our charity, St George's Crypt.

The reason for this change is that the Abbey has just had its outdoor events licence revoked. The pub is therefore not allowed to hold the event in the car park like last year. All performers will play in the pub, which ain't very big. The Owl has a much roomier stage area and plenty of seating for the audience so we've decided that it would make more sense for Duncan and his band to play there.

I'm so sorry that this is so last minute and if you know any Dunx fans, please tell them about the change.

Please be assured that the festival is going ahead and will be a lot of fun

Many thanks to the DMcF Band for being so flexible!

Diolch

Wayne

So are all the other events still at the Abbey Inn or at the Owl then?

As curonnie said, all other events are at the Abbey with the exception of Kwame D, which will be at the Owl on Friday 20th July.
Their new expanded line-up would have struggled to fit in.

Unfortunatley Deirdre no beers for me as I am in 'roadie' mode for the weekend.

Never mind I'm sure I'll still have a good time.

Thanks for the phone call last night!

Wayne - I thought you told me some of the other acts were on at the Owl along with us?
Could you clarify the situation?
Who's on at the Owl with us? - give em a mention!
I understood that the 'larger' acts (that is, in terms of member numbers and room needed - no other meaning!) - were on at the 'Owl' - and 'smaller' (sized) acts were on at the 'Abbey Inn'.
And is that on all days of the event?
Help me understand - I'm part Numpty! - Dunc

Originally, I wanted all the bigger (in size) bands to play on the Saturday with you, Duncan. However Kwame D, with their new expanded line-up can only play tonight so they will be at the Owl this evening and I haven't been able to get hold of Dark Horse, the other multi-member band.

However, Pete at the Owl has got Sam Payne the fab blues piano player to do a set and also, I think, the Paul Jeffery Band have been asked to do a slot. Is this okay?

This has been the most farcical state of affairs and I'm very grateful, for everyone's forebearance.

Music at the Abbey starts at Noon. Music at the Owl starts at 7pm.

Paul Jeffery has had to pull out of the evening slot, which leaves The Dunx Band and Sam Payne to entertain you at the Owl. However Paul is still playing his afternoon slot at the Abbey (on stage at 3pm or thereabouts)
