Subject: RE: Some things money can't buy! From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 30 Jul 07 - 10:17 PM The Buddhists at their New Year celebration asked us each to say what our wish was for. I told them that I wished for them all to pray for me to win the $31Million Lottery on New Year's Eve. I have been told that money can't make you happy, so I was willing to suffer on their behalf to save them from material excess for a while. The monks have a good sense of humour.. :-) |

Subject: RE: Some things money can't buy! From: frogprince Date: 30 Jul 07 - 11:01 PM I won't be able to come up with a title. It was one of Peggy's originals, with a very feminist point expressed with a lot of humor. Peggy just called for three men and three women from the audience to do chorus parts. The men expressed their delight at being carefree bachelors, and the women lamented being "old maids". It wasn't really a big scale perfomance opportunity for my wife at all; she's in two choirs and gets in a solo here and there. It was just such a joy to see her get to do that with Peggy. |
Subject: RE: Some things money can't buy! From: Janie Date: 30 Jul 07 - 11:09 PM It would be for anyone. Now, why weren't you up there as carefree bachelor, is what I want to know:)? |
Subject: RE: Some things money can't buy! From: frogprince Date: 31 Jul 07 - 12:07 AM Janie, if you ever heard me try to sing, especially anything that I haven't been long familiar with, you would know why : ) |

Subject: RE: A Mudcat Mrs. Sings with Peggy Seeger! From: Barry Finn Date: 11 Aug 07 - 12:31 AM So what if you couldn't sing, you could've been her foot stool or her banjo rack! To be on stage with Peggy I'd've been her rug. Good for your wife, lucky woman. Barry |
Subject: RE: A Mudcat Mrs. Sings with Peggy Seeger! From: frogprince Date: 11 Aug 07 - 09:33 AM For good straightforward singing, my wife can hold her own with the pros. She's not heavy into confidence, though, and memorizing an extensive reportoire (sp?) isn't her forte. She gets in a solo song or two now and then in low-key "venues", and is always well received. |
