Does anyone have lyrics to, or know of, a song I've heard Pete Coe sing live, where the chorus goes:

sorry I cant be more specific, I can't remember any of the verses. It has a great tune though.

The spellings for 'she landa' could be numerous....

It's "As I Roved Out" on his Long Compamy CD

He learned the version from Sarah Makem IIRC

The chorus is something like (from memory):

She sang lol the diddle lol the diddle lol the diddle day
She hi the diddle day she hi the diddle day and she landa (landed?)

As close as I can recall

I think it was actually from Sarah Makem's neighbour.
As in his introduction: This is the only song collected from . . .
Sarah was out when Pete went round.
Or else she looked from behind the curtains and mistook him for Peter Kennedy . . .
