Just to make all folkie's aware of The Garden Sessions free fortnightly podcast, from Edinburgh (Scotland) Jack Foster, Tom Harland & Dave Gimble offer up tons of new folk songwriting as well as traditional numbers. You can subscribe through itunes, or get the feed from the website:

The website is also a goldmine of free MP3's from some of the best new songwriting & traditional folk music.
(For those who don't know, a podcast is essentially a radio programme released for download on the internet so that listeners can enjoy it at their leisure. As well as being able to subscribe to automatically recieve new episodes - and NO you don't need an iPod).
